I just finished dinner and it was awesome and delicious and only 185 calories. I still have well over 200 left for the day and haven't exercised yet. My diary is public if anyone wants to look at it.
My question is - should I just complete my food diary for the day and skip working out (I did do 50 modified push-ups, but that doesn't count towards calories burned) - OR - should I work out and then eat more? I am only a little over 1200 calories for the day so I will need to eat some back if I exercise, and I really don't feel like eating any more today, but I also don't like skipping my daily work out.

What do you think? What should I do?

  • I would try to eat something small and healthy to get as close to 200 as possible. I've been told on here that you need to eat the calories you earn from exercising and try to stay within your range. Too much of a deficit and your body goes into starvation mode and it's harder to lose weight.

I know - that's why I am not sure I want to work out tonight, because I am FULL and already have a deficit (not a huge one, but a deficit nonetheless) so I would have to make myself eat more if I exercise.
  • I say don't skip your workout and see how you feel after.. If you feel like eating, eat a light healthy snack but don't force yourself.
    And don't forget your water!

I wouldn't worry about it today, it's the repeated pattern that can get us in trouble. Especially since you say you're already full, sounds like you're done for the day and had a pretty good one at that:flowerforyou:

Oh and Congrats on the 24 lbs lost already!:drinker:

If your are not hungry dont eat. I think for me anyway is I so often eat because I should and not because I am hungry. This is the emotional part of being over weight .
If you have the energy and really want to stick with your program ( the 2 hr difference is really messing with my head right now its almost 9 :30 that 's bed time not time to decide if i want to workout) and still have the energy to go for it. when you get home then decide if you want a snack. If anything eat the piece you like so much for dinner tomorrow and have a 'high calorie day" .

I try not to eat my exercise calories. if i am over they are their but I dont want to eat them because i don't have a HRM and not sure if the amount burned is correct, and I have a cheat day once a week. I log everything so I am trying to be true to myself about what I am eating. I think this extra high calorie day keep your body guessing and dose not turn it into starvation mode. It also might be why I dont have the same every week. the one week I gained 3lb you pointed out my sodium, i got that in check and by Friday i was down 7lb. I hope I gave you something to think about.
