Trying to gain weight for weigh in

Hey everyone,

I am trying to gain weight for a weigh in I have today in a few hours.

I already know to drink lots of water, and don't have a bowl movement.

What else is there left to add more weight before I go?

Uuuum eat a HUGE meal and wear your heaviest clothing (like jeans and a sweater). Put all of your loose change in your socks  Seriously weird....
  • I don't understand why you are trying to gain weight for a weigh in?

If you're looking for tips to weigh heavier while you're actually not gaining the weight you should be gaining, this site is not the correct site for you.

If you are trying to gain but simply not achieving it, just tell your doctor (or therapist or counselor etc).
  • Lol,

Its a weigh in for a diet competition I wanted to gain some weight.

Anyway if anyone wants to know how to gain 6 pounds easily.

    1. Dont take a bowl movement all day.

    2. Drink a gallon of water before you get weighed

    3. eat lots of sodium to retain the water

    4. dont pee pee unless necessary

    5. Greesy foods (Mostly for bloating)

It helped me gain 6 pounds in a day not bad.

    Now to lose weight.

Its a diet bet, people put money into the pot and the one with the highest weight loss wins.

Eat or drink a lot of something loaded with salt to retain water. Also, Do Not drink a lot of water (only moderate amounts), otherwise it will flush out some of the salt. However, do drink as much water as you can manage 'only minutes' before your weigh-in to fill your stomach.
You can also eat a lot of carbs instead of well-balanced or high-protein-fat food (simple carbs are good, but any carbs will do, actually) to build up glycogen in your liver, which will also make you retain even more water! Good luck! ;) The effects are temporary, of course.
  • Thank you for posting this I'm in the same boat! I have to gain weight in 7 days in order to even have a chance in the competition at my job! I got to put on atleast 5-10 pds by next Monday so my end weight will give me enough room to get some body fat loss. I'm definitly using these pointers!

Hahahaha! I can't believe people get so serious about stuff!! Life is short people. RELAX. I'm doing the same for our "Biggest Loser" at work. I actually had to stop my weight loss efforts for two weeks to try and wait for the contest. I upped my calories to accomodate my boot camp so I'd stop losing weight. Obviously adding "real weight" is not the goal here. Sodium & water are your best bet. This isn't something to maintain, obviously, but a lot of sodium and water the 2 or 3 nights before and a big full breakfast (and lots more water) without urinating before weigh in is key. You're body is amazing at storing water and it's heavy (camels...I'm not impressed).

If you think you are the only one or you feel guilty about this, DON'T. Our contest has gotten so big at work that in the "tips", it literally tells you to hault weight loss until the event and weigh in as heavy as you can. People wear heavy platform shoes and sweaters. No, this isn't the goal of contests like this, but it adds to the FUN that encourages people who've never counted calories to watch what they eat and EXERCISE. It spawns work-out groups and bonding. Really cool!

    Good Luck!!
