Hi there. I've done my first early morning gym before work today.
Thought it would be great to just get it out of the way before i start my day rather than finishing work and feeling too tired to go afterwards.
It feels good but I hope I don't get too tired.
What time do all you other early birds hit the gym?
It was 5.30am for me today and I'm exhausted!

I attend my Crossfit class at 6am but it is about 25-30 minutes away so I have to get up at 5 to get ready. It sucks but I like getting it over with in the morning so I can relax in the evening.0

cant do morning workouts cuz i work at 6am most days. I love morning runs tho0

7am is my preferred option.
Not too early to have a knock-on effect on my bed time the night before.0 -
I used to go early morning till i finished my membership - but the key is to have your life set up for you so you won't fail - this means, meaking sure your clothing are ready for the gym, your gym bag is prepared (towel, toiletries, etc plus clothng for work), your food is ready, coffee, etc etc etc the night before. I would jump (or crawl:bigsmile: )out of bed, put on the coffee (or down it cold), shower, change into gym outfit and was out the door in about 20 minutes.
This also means spending time on the weekend making sure your laundry is done so you are ready each evening with your gym outfit etc. (I used to have the gym clothing in sets of -sports bra, tank top, pants, socks, undies ), making sure you have food to take with you, eat something before/after the gym, and so on.
it takes time to get it all organized, but for ME it was the ideal situation - it gave me energy for the rest of the day.0 -
At the gym by 5:30am and love it. Not many people there and no trouble getting to use any of the equipment or weights.
I am however normally in bed by 9:30. Took me only a few days to get in to the routine but now normally automatically wake up about 5am. (My gym is only a 5min drive from me) ????0 -
I am just getting use to the whole early morning gym thing! I use to love going after work, but now I don't have any time after work so mornings my only option! I usually go at 7am but if there's a class it starts at 6am, meaning a 5:15 wake up which is so depressing and is the same tomorrow! And yep I am shattered by the end of the day! But I am also on my feet all day looking after a little girl!
Good luck!! x0 -
I was doing gym before work, my gym opens at 6am which was giving me about 45mins to get a workout in b4 having to take a shower and drive to work, i burn more calories in the morning and it certainly starts the day off good, but it feels too rushed having to get to work which is 20mins drive away by 7:30am, but on the flipside i end up getting stuck at work til much later rather then starting work between 6am-7am and finishing earlier and then getting to the gym.
I chop and change depending on probably workload during the day, sometimes i'm too tired after work being on my feet or moving around quick all day in a busy warehouse.
Like someone else mentioned, i in addition to preparing meals for the next day the night b4 i also have all my gym gear setup and work gear so all i have to do in the morning is put whichever on and he other is in a bag ready to go, have breakfast and go no mucking about deciding what i'm gonna do also means can stay in bed and chill that extra 15mins .0 -
My 'gym' is my living room, but I do get up and do it before work most days, I get up at 6.15, walk the dog, do my kettlebells, then cycle to work 6 miles lol. I have to say it never tires me out throughout the day if I make sure I eat enough protein, I just go to bed earlier at night.0

I go running any time from 5am - 6am and have a PT once at week at 6am. Like you i prefer to get it done and dusted first thing, even though it is a struggle to get up! Feel so much better and awake for the rest of the day. x0

I usually hit the gym around 5-5:30. It sucked the first couple weeks getting up but I have a routine now. I love it. Knock out a good workout and go about the rest of the day0
