so i ran my first 5k on saturday... being 20 lbs overweight, 45 years old and running at 6500 ft elevation, it was no easy task. but i did it! i did it in 40 minutes 50 seconds and I DID NOT FINISH LAST! i wasn't even close to last! how 'bout that! my new goal is to run the same race next year in 30 minutes.
