How do you motivate urself when ur not in the mood?

I have a gym buddy who I go to classes with - I don't want to let her down by not showing up and it's the same for her, therefore we both make sure we turn up regardless if we want to or not

Do a forum search for before and after photos. Or go on Pinterest and look at "exercise" pictures of all of the physically fit individuals. If all else fails, I look at my own before pictures. Does the trick for me every time0

I MAKE myself put on my shoes and go to the gym. I figure that if I get all the way to the gym and I still don't feel like working out then I can always go home. 95% of the time by the time I get there, I just do it. The other 5% of the time...well, it just wasn't meant to be :laugh: . It's still a heck of a lot less gym sessions missed than if I didn't get up and go at all.0

It helps with my stress... So I get off my butt to work off my stress or I just might kill somebody somedays... Now if only I could get up in the monring and wok out so I could sleep at night that would be greatness0

I take my shirt off and look in the mirror...0

I remind myself of what I want.
I look at old pictures of me... what I want to look like again.
Then I look in the mirror, unclothed.
An instant reminder and motivator.0 -

In the early days, I just had to make myself do it...now, it's pretty much like brushing my teeth or taking a shower...it's just something I do.
That's not to say that I don't have days here and there that I'm really not feeling it...and on occasion I just say, "you know what...I'm taking an unscheduled rest day." But those days are pretty far and few between and by and large, if I don't get my workouts in I'm pretty cranky.
To sustain long term, you do have to come to the point where you do not think of exercise as something "extra" in your day...it has to become just an ordinary part of an ordinary day...and I'll tell you emphatically that it is far more important to maintaining your healthy weight when you get there than it is for losing. So important to find exercise that you truly enjoy so that you will sustain that activity long term.0 -
I told everybody that I want to lose weight and that I will lose weight.
So failure is not an option anymore :laugh:

I look at before and afters, sleep in my gym clothes (or change into them as soon as I get home from work), on swim days I walk around in my swim suit to remind myself why I gotta get my fat *kitten* to the pool, and sometimes, I just do it. (que Nike swoosh)
And sometimes, I just don't. (Which motivates me the next day, because I hate feeling the lazy-guilt!)0 -
Just changing into my gym clothes does it the majority of the time. If my butt is still dragging I take a little C4 to help pep me up... I'm not a big proponent of pre-workout supplements but sometimes after a long day of work you just need something for that extra push.
It also helps that the majority of the time I am going to the gym my husband is going with me and his job depends on his weight maintenance.... since he makes the vast majority of money in our household I feel like I should have to suffer too0 -
I ask myself what do I want more, to be fat* or to do my exercise and achieve my goal? Exercise wins 99% of the time.
*calling/thinking myself fat works as motivation for me. It's not a self-esteem issue at all…anymore. See my ticker.0 -
I have a running journal that I feel out after each run... it reminds me of how great I felt and gives me a sense of accomplishment - this way, when I am feeling blah I have proof that I will feel fantastic after my run
