What makes you sure it's wrong?0

I dont know....just a gues...72 is normal I guess...
72 being normal doesn't mean that it's your heart rate.
Edit to add- my heart rate is around 60bpm.0 -
Why don't you try measuring your heart rate instead of guessing? Count your pulse for ten seconds then multiply by six.0
-
As above, actually count it to check whether its correct rather than guessing? If its wrong, take it back for a replacement.0

I would ask the question, How do you know 72 is normal? I have a Polar and that is the heart rate I get when I wear it.0 -
Huh? Normal resting heart rate is anywhere between say 40-100. It will be lower the more in-shape you are. 85-90 resting rate is probably about right for someone who isn't in very good shape. Top end of normal. So...I wouldn't worry about it.0

Measure it a couple of times and check it against the watch but I am guessing it is not to far off.
ETA: I knew my old one was messed up when I was sprinting and couldn't breathe and the hrm read 120.0 -
That does not sound like a wrong number at all. Normal HR is a range, and your number is in it. The more fit you become the lower that number will get. Right now my resting HR is in the mid 60s. In the summer when I cycle a lot it is down in the mid to high 50s. Before I got fit, it was up in the 90s all the time, sometimes higher.0

You may have switched it to % of max heart rate. I was making myself nuts one day when cycling when my hr monitor kept reading around 80. I accidentally switched the settings. I have the RS100 though, yours is different and may not have the % of max. Look for it though.0

Don't forget to check it while sitting and standing. The standing rate should be different from the sitting rate.0

I just worked mine out and it is 78, so everyone is different0 -
If you have a hard time checking it yourself with a watch you could always go to the drug store and slip your arm into a blood pressure cuff see if it gives a similar reading... I believe most will show your heart rate as well as pressure.0

Will do jus tht..., count n then analyse whether its a faulty piece or not0

Thanks guys....will observe my heart rate manually n also wat the watch is showing.....thanks once again...0
