Hi, I'm MV. I have been wanting to lose some weight for awhile. I'm not really overweight, around 160 lbs, but most of this is because of my body type. Just over the holidays I've gained a few pounds, and I decided that I've not been eating my best and I want a healthy change for me. Of course it was the holidays, but recently I've noticed I don't chose my proportions well and I like to graze. The weight loss will also help me to get fit for the spring sports I want to do, so if any of you have any tips for me, that would be great! Thanks.

Welcome. I will assume you're 18 or 19 and that's what you meant by 'teen' since posting that you were under 18 would be grounds for having your account stripped. :flowerforyou:

Just please make sure you are focusing on good nutrition, as our bodies are still developing until our early 20's and the choices you make now can affect your body 10 years from now.

Also please beware of creepers. They're here on this site and you've just advertised your youth.

Sparkteens.com may be a good option for you if you want to find more specific info for someone your age.

  • Get the hence to your local Walmart/Target etc and get a food scale and a set of measuring cups and spoons.... and use them religiously! That will get you back into the habit of good portion control.

Keep healthy snacks available. Fruits, veg, low calorie salad dressing to dip veggies, etc. Reach for them when you are feeling the urge to graze. If you are still in school, throw some in your backpack to nosh on between classes.

    And of course... more exercise!
  • Thank you all for the answers! I will definitely use the measuring cups and spoons, thanks! And yes I am above the age limit, so not a teen anymore. I wasn't aware of the creepers. Thanks for telling me about that.
