Pain after I eat

For some strange reason, after every meal, I seem to have pain in my stomach. Except for breakfast, I'm fine whenever I have breakfast but for some reason, after my lunch and dinner I get pain in my belly like I'm going to be sick or it just hurts.
Anyone else get this?

I do when I eat a tonn of veggies, like in stir fry, it's like I can feel it travelling all the way down, hurts like he**. Good luck0

Hmmm, no..... are you lactose intollerant and eating a lot of cheese? Do you eat a lot of beans or raw broccoli? This is gross, but if I eat foods that set off my tummy, I get horrible gas pains.... it's not like I'm passing a lot of gas, but rather I get these pains in my gut that torture me for a few hours, depending on what I ate. Don't know if that helps, just a thought!0

Sorry, but when u say Pain?? is it like gas pains or like u have to go to the bathroom..also where in the stomach?? Up above your belly button ( could be gas ) or below the belly button?
Could it be you are rushed and eating fast at lunch and dinner? Or grabbing something and eating on the run??
Have u tried eliminating certain food to see if something in particular is bothering your stomach??
Hope u figure it out but I think if it bothers u, maybe check it out with Yr doctor..

Well, I will only speak from personal experience, since I"m not in the medical field :ohwell:
BUT, there could be many reasons why. I used to have pain after all my lunches and dinners. I went to doctor and just need some medicine to straighten out my IBS. (I know, TMI, but i'm trying to help) :flowerforyou:
Now that I've changed up my diet to light, small healthy meals, stay hydrated and eat plenty of fiber, I'm a new woman!
It could be just gas from too much fiber, too much acid (tomatoes, juices, etc)..... or even eating too much. I would take a look at what things are in the foods you are eating and start there.0 -
I sometimes get that too. But I am lactose intolerant and it is usually after eating dairy.

1. Are you eating a tone of fiber or gas inducing foods? (such as cabbage, lettuce, etc)
2. Are you eating dairy? You may be lactose intollerant.
3. Are you eating gluten? Gluten is a protein found in grains such as wheat, rye, etc. You may be gluten intollerant (intollerant verses alergic, if you were alergic to gluten you would be in excruciating pain and either gaining a tone of weight or losing a tone of weight-usually losing).
I'm gluten intollerant & I find when I eat foods containing it that I get a stabbing/crampy feeling in my abdomen & I can tell as soon as it hits my stomach & starts being digested as my stomach often gets sharp pains (although not as bad as when it reaches my intestines).0 -
I had that for awhile before starting my plan. Dr says I have diverticuli. Which are small holes in the bowel...cause unknown... but a lot of people who have it also have irratable bowel syndrome. Have you any pain in the bowels too? Any chills or other things going on? Those holes can get food stuck and become infected and thus the pain. Eating can make it worse. I did not have pain other than when I ate. Just a thought. Check with your dr as it could be a number of things. This is just my experience.0

I AM in the medical field so here is my 2 cents:
Yes yes yes, it could be gas, IBS, celiac disease (gluten intolerance), or lactose intolerance.... but there are two other more serious medical conditions you must consider.
1. Gallbladder disease
2. Peptic Ulcer
Gallbladder disease simply means that you have stones in your gallbladder which can slow down the ejection fraction or "emptying rate" of the gallbladder causing moderate to severe pain and sometimes nausea, bloating, and gas. The typical Gallbladder sufferer is described as "FFF" : Female, Fat, and in her Forties. Although this is NOT always the case (I had my gallbladder removed at 22 and I was quite thin at the time.) A gallbladder attack, or onset of symptoms, can be triggered by eating a high-fat meal or drink (think chocolate milk). Brownies for example made mine really bad. Gallbladder pain is hard to pinpoint because although your gallbladder is above your stomach ( right where your ribs join at your sternum in the front ) some people experience pain there, or in their right shoulder (which is called referred pain) and some people just experience a general all over stomach pain. Your doctor can determine if you have Gallbladder disease by doing an Ultrasound to check for the presence of stones. If stones are found they will typically due a Nuclear Medicine Hida Scan to determine the ejection fraction at which time the determination will be made whether you should have your gallbladder removed (cholecystectomy) or just alter your diet.
If you are having reflux and nausea you may have a peptic ulcer which is caused by a bacteria called H.Pylori (Helicobacter pylori). Once the bacteria weakens an area of the stomach lining that area can be irritated by food intake. Usually the 1st meal of the day will not irritate the ulcer because the stomach is empty and food has room to move about freely but as the day progresses and we continue to eat the ulcer becomes irritated causing pain. Reflux / Heartburn does not necessarily mean you have a peptic ulcer, and the absence of it does not mean you still couldn't have one. Your doctor can check for an ulcer by doing a simple breath or blood test looking for H.Pylori - if positive a 2 week treatment with 2 different antibiotics and a proton pump inhibitor (like Prilosec or Nexium) will clear up the condition.
I hope that helps. Any which way you slice it the best answer I can give you is, if the pain and discomfort persists visit your doctor so that he can run the necessary tests It's ALWAYS better to catch things early.
