Hi, I've had a bad day today and just had a KFC.
What I was wondering if I'm over today (which I am say by 200 calories, as I don't want to eat back all my exercise) if tomorrow I eat 200 calories less will it counteract today?

When I go over, I just log it and move on. I don't carry anything over to the next day, although I might try to make better choices the following day and stay closer to goal. It usually all averages out over the week.0
-
Sure, I typically don't bother though.0
-
I don't...I just carry on the next day as I would normally do and I don't eat less to make-up for my previous day. One bad day is not the end of it all.0
-
If I only go over one day, I don't worry about it too much.0

How many exercise calories do you have? You do realize that you're supposed to eat them back right? that's how this tool works.
Beyond that, it's one day of many days...your MFP calorie goal includes a massive deficit from your theoretical maintenance...if on top of that you are not eating back exercise calories (exercise is an unaccounted for activity on MFP until you log it) then you're making that deficit even bigger and really...at that point, some fried chicken would do you good.0 -

This! Eat the exercise calories. Log it. Move on.0 -
I stopped looking at my diary as a day to day measurement and started taking it week to week. In fact, this is just me so YMMV, on Saturday after I weigh in I go through my whole week's diary and add up all the extra calories I left over from each day of the week, if any, then add them to my Saturday allotment. Great day for a party or a nice dinner out... :drinker:0

If I know I'm going to go over, like if we plan on doing AYCE sushi for date night, I try to eat under everyday that week. But if that doesn't happen, it's not that big of a deal. It all balances out one way or another. You can drive yourself crazy trying to "bank" calories. Just ballpark the week and you will be fine.0

If you go over for a day, log it, and move on. Tomorrow is a new day, and paying extra for today just reinforces a negative relationship with food.
1 pound = 3500 calories. If you're over today by 200 calories, it's not going to impact your long-term weight loss unless every day has the same result.0 -
In the long run, 200 calories won't have much impact. If you go over by 200 calories every day, your weight loss would absolutely slow down but if it's only every once in a while, I'd log it, shrug it off, and move on.0

^^ Love this.
Leave the past bad day exactly where it is. Move on and feel better the next day with healthy choices.0 -

I went out for dinner for a special family members birthday (French Restaurant), and I am sure I went over but daily allowance by around 1500-2000 calories lol! (I had 3 courses, with bread, drinks you name it!) I've logged it as best as I can, moved on. The next few days I just make sure I eat lighter, more easily digestable choices (ie: LOTS of vegetables and whole foods, nothing processed). I hate going over by so much0
