Ok MFPs... I need some advice. I posted this on my profile, but do not have many friends who will see it so thought I would post here!
I have had a very proud day full of healthy choices, but am in a tough situation. I am at the end of my day, it's 6:47 PM, and I have only consumed 840 calories today, not counting calories burned from walking earlier today. My only options are a friend bringing food from a restaraunt or the vending machine because I am stuck at work until 9. What to do...?

Restaurant. If possible, look up the restaurant's menu/nutrition and chose from that.0

there are lots of healthy choices that you can get from restaurants...
grilled chicken with a salad or vegetables...have the dressing on the side...
a small piece of steak and a baked potato with a little sour cream, salt and pepper...
you can even get a burger, just take it off the bun and have a side of salad or vegies...
its not about what you eat today, its about what you eat over all...
one meal didn't make anyone fat...bad choices over time will however cause you to gain weight...
eat whatever your friend brings you and move on...dwelling over food takes the enjoyment out of eating, and that is no fun at all!!!!0 -
Hi,
Could your friend bring you a salad from the restaurant perhaps? Or soup maybe? Just a few thoughts:)0 -
Personally, i would have a friend bring you something....perhaps some lean chicken or beef, a wrap with veggies would be good, a healthy sandwich with whole grain bread. Although under eating a day here and there isn't a bad thing, I wonder if you will end up eating junk later because you are too hungry.0

Good thinking... the junk probably would happen because I tend to do that at night and then I would just feel worse!0

I bring massive amounts of snacks to work, veggies with dip, Peanut butter, string cheese, hummus, berries, yogurt, bananas, microwave popcorn... basically options that are just as easy but more nutritious than the vending machine. Whether your under or over tonight, in the future it pays to plan ahead and stock yourself up with better and easier options. Cheaper in the long run too.0

I've tried that in the past... but was just in a hurry today.0 -
i'd go with restaurant.
my go to places for last minute dinner choices near me (especially when i have LOADS of calories to eat) are either the fresh mexican place where i can get good fish tacos and beans and rice, the afghan place where i can get lamb, chicken and veggie kabobs over brown rice, the vegetarian place where i get lemongrass "chicken" with brown rice or the sushi place where i can get sushi and seaweed salad.
another option is using something like grubhub and ordering in to be delivered at work0 -
Restaurant is a good answer - myself I opt for the peanuts / sunflower seeds from the vending machines.0
