Hi,

I have been on MFP for about two weeks now. I have really enjoyed reading the posts. Since, I am rather shy about posting things I have waited to ask a couple questions. When I saw how helpful everyone was and kind I decided what the hay? If I am going to do this ( AND I WILL) I have to to go for it! LOL

So, tossing the rock I have been hiding under aside- here are my questions.

A) I get kinda freaked out by how many extra calories gets added to my " get to consume" column. Do I need to eat every single calories of remaining at end of day?

B) Are the foods I am eating healthy enough? Protein shakes or no? ( Gawd, I love those suckers LOL)

Maybe, someone could look at my food diary and let me know what they think? Any insights would be awesome!

Thanks:)

thank you, I am going to try that now. Still getting use to the set up too:)
  • no, you don't have to eat all the calories. exercise just means you earn extra ones if you want them. good luck.

your eating is pretty damn healthy in my opinion. great ratios of carbs, protein, and fat. your sodium is even at a good level. and i think protein shakes are fine. i drink one after every work out as do many others. overall, great job!

Hello and welcome to MFP.... You don't have to eat all your extra calories but you should try to get all your daily cals. Foods seem to be good and healthy. Keep up the good work!!

Thanks for input:) One thing I noticed is some days when I click complete entry I get the you are not eating message. Today, I didn't get that just estimated loss in 5 weeks. Hmm, maybe, I will use that to decide how many of the exercise cals to use. I was thankful for extra cals after doing a Billy Blank's dvd. whoa! LOL I am so glad I posted the questions.
  • Thank heavens you finally got brave and posted here so we could all find you! I just sent you a friend request :flowerforyou: I just joined here 10 days ago and it is the best thing I ever did! Work this site as much as possible-it has been invaluable to me. Sent you a little message with the friend request! Great luck to you on this adventure we are all on together:bigsmile:

Oh, and as you add more friends check out their food diaries too. I have gotten some great ideas from my friends foods. And eating back your calories that you burn up is going to have to be up to you-what works for one doesn't work for another. You are in control of your destiny!

FYI that message comes up if you haven't eaten at least 1200 calories. You want to make sure you eat AT LEAST that daily. REMEBER the calories that MFP alots already have a deficit figured in. Adding exercise increases that deficit. I notice that if I start to stall out on the weightloss and I start eating back some of my exercise calories it will kick it up again. Just food for thought if you will. :flowerforyou:
