Pedometer Recommendation (suitable for swimming)

Sorry for what seems to be another questions regarding pedometer recommendations, but it doesn't seem like previous topics have what I'm looking for and reviews out there are quite confusing for my specific needs.
At the end of the day, I'd like a watch-style pedometer that works for both running and swimming (preferably with no chest strap).
I seem to be seeing suggestions for one or the other, and I don't see that the swimming specific ones will work with tracking daily activities. My main goal is to keep track of my movements during the day, but when I hit the gym, I both swim and use the treadmills and want something that will assist with tracking those as well.
Suggestions are very much appreciated!

I use the Misfit Shine. It is waterproof and you can set it to an activity tagging mode. One of the activities you can pick is swimming. Works well enough for me.0

not really sure what u are looking for but I use my Polar FT60 Women's Heart Rate Monitor for swimming. I also got a clicker and when I finish a lap (down and back) I click it and thats how I track how many laps I do. I use the hrm for running and other activities as well.0

Thanks for your replies.
I looked into the Misfit Shine, and some of the things going against it is the lack of Android support, lack of heart rate monitoring and reviews saying that the calorie counting is not quite correct. It is a very beautiful piece, though. I was quite tempted by it.
I was under the impression that the Polar series requires a chest strap. Is this not the case for the FT60?0 -
What you are looking for may require 2 separate products: a heart rate monitor and an activity tracker. I could be wrong, but I don't know of any activity trackers that can monitor HR and an HRM will not give you an accurate number for low HR activities if you try to wear it all day.
I use a Fitbit One and a Polar FT4. The Polar is a heart rate monitor with a chest strap. The chest strap is pretty essential for accuracy. I wear my Fitbit all day, but take it off if I am going to swim as it is not waterproof. If I am swimming for exercise I wear my FT4, then manually log the time working out and the calorie burn to the Fitbit via the app or my laptop.0 -
No HRM worth it's salt will have no chest strap. The Misfit Shine is the closest thing I can think of that's on the market now.0

Thanks skylark94. I was afraid that I might have to use two separate systems to do what I want to do. When it comes down to it, I think the heart rate monitoring isn't as important as being able to time my laps and count the steps/daily activities. I can't imagine having a chest strap on me the whole day just to monitor my heart rate.0

I use the Polar FT4 to record my swim sessions.
I've been using it for about 7 months now, still on the same battery, watch, chest strap/transmitter both in still good working order.0
