(Some of you might be kind of young and may not know about these  )

    1) The Brady Bunch - Cousin Oliver
    2) Married With Children - Cousin Seven
    3) Family Ties - Andrew ("Andy") Keaton
    4) Saved By The Bell - Tori (Even though I lot of people did not like her, I thought she was okay....)
    5) Growing Pains - Luke Bower (Leo Di Caprio as a teen. He wasn't bad in the show, but the show probably should have ended a year sooner...)

That 70s Show. The final season where Eric joined the Peace Corps and they brought in a "not-Eric" to replace him.

Totally agree. And agree about all the new small kid additions to TV shows.

And of course for the movies: when they destroyed the Indiana Jones series with the whole nuke the fridge and live bit.

Anytime Ted McGinley is brought onto the show.

He actually had his own page on the former Jump the Shark website..........although I thought he was a better option on Married with Children.
  • anytime any show has a "special musical show" like Grey's Anatomy did..... WTF?

LIES Once More with Feeling! was one of my favorite episodes of Buffy. (Of course it is the ONLY musical episode I've ever liked)

Gotta add Supernatural.... they probably should have ended the show after season 5 or so... although it is getting better again, and I won't deny I love watching Jensen Ackles do... pretty much anything.... But why do the writers keep killing them and bringing them back? C'mon, there has to be a bit more creativity in the group than THAT.

Also, Doctor Who. Not really the show, but the most recent companion, Clara. Her character kind of jumped the shark when we discovered her purpose, but other than that, she is worthless and has no personality or character development.

The entire last season of Arrested Development.

It was awesome before, but the last season was just awful.

Except for the Gob episode. But that is because Gob is awesome.

    -clip-

To be fair, Doctor Who more or less jumps the shark every time they get a new Doctor. Or a new companion. That's part of the show. Back in classic, when Jon Pertwee was replaced by Tom Baker, there was quite an uproar, but Tom Baker ended up being the most popular Doctor for 2+ decades. And Colin Baker replacing Peter Davidson was truly a tragedy, according to many fans.

I do miss the Ponds, though. I haven't seen all of s7 yet (working on it right now) so I haven't seen any of Peter Capaldi yet, but from what else of his I've encountered, I think it'll work out okay.
