feeling disappointed...sad

Hey MFP family, im feeling discouraged and unmotivated. I thought I would be able to focus my three week winter break on my new lifestyle and workout routine, but its not at all of what I expected. I got the stomach flu and then a real bad cold. I have not been able to workout the way I need to.... and im frustrated, disappointed, and sad. I sound like a negative nelly dont I ? :ohwell:

  • I think you need to look in the mirror and appreciate yourself. You obviously care! We all slope down in December, how could we not with Christmas cookies?
Try telling yourself what you like about yourself since you've started. And always remind yourself WHY you're here in the first place. Keep positive and don't give up!

Take the time you need to heal. I've been slammed with Bronchitis twice this last year...and I took a couple weeks each time to fully recover and just watched cals. Its easier on your body to heal when you aren't pushing it too hard. It will get better and when you feel up to it..get back to it. No need to think its over..just consider this a rest period. :)

5 lbs lost - your headed the right direction towards your goal - Congrats!! So your "break" didn't prove to be the time to start your new routine (instead it was a good time to be sick). This clears the way for you to now start that new workout routine - as part of your typical activities. this is a perfect time to introduce that workout routine. Find the schedule that works for you. Start slow/ light if you need to and work into it over time. Hopefully that is a special person in your profile pic who can encourage you and possibly be your accountability partner! Tell negative nelly good by - you're too good for her to stick around. Time for positive polly to show up!!
