What is considered "vigorous" Weight training?

I see a setting on this site i use to calculate calories burned after a lifting. I always wonder whether i have done a moderate workout or a vigorous workout. What would you consider as a vigorous workout?

It's not about calories burned it's how much weight I can lift and if I fail or not.
Me a vigorous workout...where I get all my sets/reps out except that last one....and I try but...just doesn't get up....
Then on the next workout I do get it.

I wear a HRM and try to keep my HR between 140 and 170 for standing leg exercises (squats w/ weight, walking lunges w/weight, deadlifts) and over 120-125 for all other lifting... I lift heavy and can usually only get 6-8 reps before I need a rest. Rest time is until my HR is at the bottom of my window... it's vigorous to me!0

i would consider vigorous anything where you need to take at least 3 minutes to recover between sets. most 5*5 or 5/3/1 programs will eventually have you doing that0

vigorous in my mind... usually means you are working up a sweat and you know that you are giving it your all!!!0

Yeah i guess the best way to figure it out would be to wear a HRM.0
