Hi there!
My name is Grae and I am back again to MFP to finish what I started a couple of years ago. Time to finally reach the goals I have set for myself! Would love to have some MFP buddies who are active, and committed to realistic weight loss goals. I am good at giving encouragement and would like to have some along the way as well.
A little about me- I am a christian, 45, happily married, with 2 great kids (well not kids really, one is 22, one is 15) and 2 German Shepherds. I recently started C25K with my husband and 15 yr old. So far I hate it, but love it at the same time. I also LOVE to hike and just be outdoors.
I started my weight loss journey about 3 years ago, but wasn't really too serious about investing in it consistently, and then about 2 years ago really started working hard at losing weight. About 50 pounds into my weight loss I joined MFP and kept with it until I had achieved about 145 pounds lost. My highest weight was 375 (good grief- I know!!!!)
I think I burned myself out during that time with being a bit over the top in everything I was doing, and I just got tired of it all, and decided to try and be a bit more realistic with losing the weight, and also left MFP as most of my MFP buddies were mia or not very active, and I thought "I got this, I'll finish the last chunk on my own". I was also dealing with some pretty major life changes, etc... all in all, I think it more led to a recipe for disaster than anything else!
I ended up gaining back 50 pounds of the 145 I had lost originally, unfortunately, and in November I decided that I just really don't want to be the person who didn't finish what she started, and didn't reach her goal. So, here I am again! Since November I have re-lost 32 pounds of what I gained back, so am 19 pounds away from NEW WEIGHT lost- finally. I have a total of 75 pounds i would like to lose to reach my main goal, and I am actually excited about logging again, and taking care of myself in this way again, and really am ready to finish what I started.
If you managed to read this entire short story, and would like to be buddies on MFP, send me an invite! :flowerforyou:
And- good luck to everyone on achieving their own goals this year! I think it will be a wonderful 2014!

welcome back Grae! Feel free to add me if you'd like.
I have been here off and on for a few years. I have had some great success being here, and then I go through a period where i just eat what i want without a care and gain some/all the weight back.
I have decided that THIS will be the year that I reach my goals and would love to help you reach yours.
