Knee problem

I was on Week 5 on c25k when my knee just went. I was halfway through the last 5 minites then I suddenly got a lot of pain whenever my left foot hit the ground. A week later and I still can't climb stairs without being in pain! It's a quite sharp pain just below/behind the kneecap. I've been wearing a support around it for the past few days during the day but doesn't seem to be making it any better/worse. No swelling either. Any ideas what could have caused this (so I don't do it again!) and how to fix?

I have proper running shoes which had been fitted and didn't do anything differently. Was running at a nice pace for me which meant I could still talk but not sing as recommended.

Itching to start again as I was so proud of my progress and now have no idea where I can start from again or even when!

I have lots of knee problems and find that ibruprofen gel really helps, as does rest. Basically you need to rest it until the pain goes and then very slowly build up exercise again. It might be worth a trip to the Dr to get it checked out.

Thanks! I've used some ibuprofen gel but didn't have too much off an effect. Tried to use the cross trainer very gently last night but seemed to have made things worse! It's been close to a week now and not a happy bunny :(

It took 6 months for mine to improve. A week is not very long if you have stressed the tendons or ligaments.
