Wow! Nice job! You'll be at your goal weight in no time!
What changes did you make to your prior way of life? Just wondering what the main things are that helped you achieve this.0 -
Thanks girls:)
I try to walk 45 mins at least 4-5 times a week, drink lots of water, stay under 1200 calories, drink green tea, etc.
I was over eating badly.0 -
Amazing,well done0

Congrats..that's a lot of weight in a short amount of time....not sure staying under 1200 is a good idea tho minimum suggested for women is 1200....
ETA: not to diminish your success at all just concerned about how it was done.

Did you only walk or also do some other work outs? You look fantastic0

I concur. You don't want to lose any LBM, and eating that low will ensure that you'll be losing muscle. You want to avoid being skinny fat when you reach your goal, so the slow and steady approach of 1 lb a week is probably a better goal for you. Just my advice. Obviously you can keep doing what you're doing.0 -

Thirded.
OP - According to this calculator (http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/), your BMR is ~1500. It would probably be a more realistic intake in the long run to eat at least that.0 -

I know people get upset when this comes up in Success Stories, but you have to understand the responsibility that comes with posting in this specific forum.
You become a role model. You become an implicit advocate of whatever you did to get where you are, because you chose to share it.
In the Guidelines on this forum, advocating any form of undereating is against policy. Saying you tried to stay under 1200 calories is dangerous. You're a 21 year, borderline-tall woman who is active. 1200 is not the number for "you." It works because you crash-dieted. Crash-dieting works in the short-term for nearly everyone.
But it's not healthy. And it's why MFP issues a warning *every* time you complete a diary under 1200.
You shed LBM you probably don't realize you'll want until you get closer to your goal weight and still aren't "happy." You're not learning healthy habits, because you won't remain at 1200 forever, right? You wouldn't want to get trapped in the, "I have to eat 800 calories for the rest of my life; I gain anytime I go up!" cycle that happens to many people who attempt to lose lots of weight very quickly, and in turn lose lots of muscle which would have helped them keep the figure they wanted, and the metabolism they thought they couldn't have.
I'm glad you decided to do something about your health, but undereating is not the way to do it.
Would you want your son, at a reasonably healthy weight, to lose nearly 20 pounds in less than two months from undereating?
If your answer is, "No," why would you do it to yourself?0 -
Good job you look awesome!0

Thanks everyone! This site said to stay under 1200 pounds by the info I put in. I still eat plenty. This morning I ate a banana and a toaster strudel. I just try to stay under that amount of calories:)
And no additional exercises.0 -
Plus i'm about to make me a hot pocket lol. I promise, no starving myself here! I never under eat. I eat 4 meals a day.
No reason to jump to conclusions.0 -
Nice progress! Good luck with your goals!0

Ok, apparently our advice didn't stick the first time around. So here's the non-sugar-coated version: if you keep eating under 1200 calories you will end up skinny fat. If that's your goal, then go for it. If not, refer to the advice above.0 -

Have you not noticed that every time you complete a day with under 1200 calories, a big warning pops up?
Dear, congratulations so far but you are doing this in an unhealthy way that is sacrificing muscle, organ, and bone mass unnecessarily.
You have to eat more.
If you're just going with 1200 because MFP told you 1200, reset your goals to 1 lb a week instead of 2 lbs a week. 2 lbs a week is horrifically inappropriate for someone who is not obese, and you are not close to obese.0 -
Thats awesome0

Alright, well thanks for the advice.0

Where is the like button..we only do this out of concern. I tell my own sister the same thing....she got it finally.
I would like to ask the OP...what size are you in? What are your goals? only weight loss? or be in a certian size or bf%?
ETA the hot pocket doesn't mean anything...I am your height and I am steadily losing weight too...but eat 1600 -1800 calories a day...0 -
I eat an average of around 1300 a day. Some days it's a little below. I just try to stay around 1200.0

Before I had my son I was a size 5. After I had him I was wearing a size 12. Now around size 8. I am hoping to lose 15 more pounds and get to my size 5 again. That is my goal.
And no I meant im not starving myself obviously because I have already eaten a banana, a toaster strudel, orange juice, and now a hot pocket today.0 -

The suit on the right fits you much better. Great job!0 -
Congrats on the weight loss. Just a thought though...I'm an inch taller than you and started at 177 and I am now 158 (pretty similar stats). It took me 4 months to lose 18 lbs but I was able to eat a lot more calories and lost more fat than lean mass. Quick losses mean you are losing more muscle than you probably want to.
My goal weight is similar to yours as well and since we don't have much to lose its better to aim for .5 to 1 lb a week loss.0 -
Thank you! The one on the left was the biggest size they had and it still was too little:/0

You really need to consume more protein. You want to lose fat, not muscle. However, your large calorie deficits and lack of protein intake are both contributing to the apparent fact that much of your weight loss is muscle, organ, and bone instead of fat. High protein intake and strength training are how you retain muscle, organ, and bone mass and lose fat instead.0
