How many days a week?

I am a Mom of two little ones and I work at home part time as a hair dresser and will also be starting a new job next week 2 days a week, Tuesday and Thursday. I won't be getting home on those days until around 7 so those nights are going to be hectic. So then I was thinking of working out Monday, Wednesday and Friday and leave the weekend off to spend as a family. Is 3 days a week really enough? Or should I really be pushing for 5 days a week?

    Exercise is not what is going to get you losing weight, eating at a deficit is. Three days a week is fine!

    It all depends how fast you want to lose. Eating and watching calories, but exercise does help. Do some cardio with the kids. :-) Every bit helps! Congrats on the new job and Good luck!

    This.

    Calorie deficit = weight loss
    Exercise = fitness

    Stay within your calorie goal and you will continue to lose weight.
    I exercise 3-5 days a week currently, depending on mood/weather/schedule. On the days I don't exercise I eat my base MFP goal. On the days I do, I eat my extra calories.

    I would aim for five days per week. Of course calorie deficit is important but exercise is very important. I lost 49 pounds in three month's and 10 days. I did 1 hour cardio everyday and strength trained. Even though I lost fast I have zero loose skin and my body fat percentage is 12 percent.

    Some on here will not put the value on exercise it deserves but exercise will be a key component during maintenance.

    Thanks Everyone! I am eating in my deficit, just I find not only does exercise keep me feeling great and motivated especially with eating choices, it also makes me feel like my metabolism is moving faster.
