Crock pot and freezer meals

Who else loves to crock pot and do freezer meals? I'm ALL about meal planning and making ahead meals for Clean Eating! If you log your food and do lots of those, please add me so I can see what you're eating! I need more ideas! I feel like I'm forever eating chili these days....

    I am not sure if you can see my recipes or not, but I will gladly share them on here. For example, I had Butternut Squash and Apple Soup tonight. The recipe makes 6 servings and can be frozen:

    334 calories per serving
    79g Carbs
    4g Fat, depending how much butter or olive oil you use
    4g Protein

    All the time. After work I go to the gym and by the time I get home I don't feel like cooking. At the moment in my freezer I have:
    shredded bbq chicken
    balsamic chicken
    chicken and rice burrito filling
    turkey chili
    kielbasa, potato, and kale soup

    I get most of my recipes from skinnytaste.com and skinnyms.com

    That sound really good, is it filling? I'm always afraid to make stuff like this because I'm afraid the Mr won't get full from it. But if it works for you.....!

    In for recipes and ideas but ..

    I do this ALL the time, I try and have 30 nights worth of dinners in my freezers at any one time.

    Basically I use chicken, beef, goat and kangaroo, and mushroom for non-meat meals
    With lots of beans / chickpeas / lentils
    and vegetables (frozen ones)
    I then use either a stock or diced tomatoes
    And herbs
    Or curry spices (cumin, turmeric, coriander, chili etc)
    and a dash of tabasco

    I also do lots of vegetable soups (made from anything on hand)

    I find that this gives us enough variety.

    I think it is filling, although last night I added a 4oz sirloin on the side to shut the carnivore in my head up.

    Another quick recipe I like to make and throw in the freezer is an easy (non-award winning) chili.

    40oz 96% Lean ground beef
    1 onion
    2 15oz Cans low sodium kidney beans
    28oz diced tomatoes
    16oz tomato juice
    2 packets of McCormick chili seasoning
    1 cup water

    Makes 4 servings

    Brown the beef and drain the fat. Chop the onion and add the beef. Add beans (with liquid), tomatoes (with liquid), tomato juice, seasoning and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 30 minutes. Depending on how you like your chili, you can omit the water to make the chili thicker and less soupy.

    balsamic chicken - this one I usually increase the serving size because it's so low in calories. You could easily serve with rice or pasta spaghetti squash. But like I said, I'm lazy. When I get home from the gym I like to be able to pop one container in the microwave and be done.

    potato soup - not a crockpot recipe per se, but I do it in the crockpot and it works well. My partner doesn't like spicy, so I substitute kielbasa for the chorizo

    I'm slowly working my way through this list. What I like is that you prep everything then freeze. So you just throw your meal into the slow cooker and off you go. I am a slow cooker junky, Martha Stewart has a ton of slow cooker recipes that are ultra clean as well. That's just how she rolls :P

    My husband and I just started doing once-a-month freezer cooking in October, and we LOVE it! Since most of our meals are home-cooked now, I can enter all of the recipes into MFP and it makes logging my calories so, so easy. We paid for a membership with the Once A Month Meals website, but there are tons of menus and recipes available to try for free as well. We decided to try out paleo this year, and have really liked their paleo menu so far. They also have traditional, whole foods, diet, gluten-free/dairy-free options as well. I highly recommend it!

    simple stiry fry

    1. 1 teaspoon of olive or coconut oil or any oil of your choice
    2. 150-170 grams of meat of your choice or depends on your macros
    3. cut up green beans, broccoli, carrots and any green leafy veggies of your choice i like choy sum or kale
    4. a tablespoon of hoisin sauce or oyster sauce to taste

    Saute ingredients in medium to high heat, i like my veggies a little on the raw side so i only saute it for about 3-4 minutes.

    you can so change the variety of this stir fry, from changing the sauce to changing the veggie variations, etc.

    you can also cook in bulk with this, usually i will make a good 2 days worth.
