which artificial sweetener do you like and why?

I've never been a fan of artificial sweeteners, but my doc says I have to. So which do you like the most and why do you like it over the others?

I use the real stuff 95% of the time. The rest is HFCS when I eat junk (typically I avoid it though) and stevia in my protein bars or powder. I can't stand the aftertaste of the other articial sweeteners. If I had to choose, it would definitely be agave or stevia though.

I don't use any. Unless it's in dessert at a restaurant, I rarely have much sugar except fruit and a tiny bit of honey/jam!

I use Equal (when really necessary) the tablets dissolves easily and the powder can be used in the same quantities as sugar (1 tspoon = 1 tspoon), it can also be used in baking (a lot of others cant).

I have tried most all of the others over the years I always come back to Equal

I use EZ-sweetz (liquid sucralose) and Stevia.
Sucralose is artificial but stevia is natural--you can actually grow the plant and use the leaves. I grew it in my garden a few years ago but it is much easier to just purchase it in powdered form.

If I buy them on their own (rather than in a drink, say), it's for baking generally - so be warned, while Stelvia seems all good... it does specify you still need to use SOME sugar. My low calorie protein brownies were pretty disgusting thanks to NOT reading that :(.... friend's GF still ended up finishing them off :).

I love Splenda. It is actually a lot sweeter than sugar so you can use less of it! I use it in baking and to make sweet tea. It really does save on calories. Of course you hear bad things about artificial sweeteners..but you also hear bad things about regular sugar. Nothing is good for you anymore.:grumble:

None, I think they are gross. They have such a weird chemical after taste.

I use the real thing, but I've learned to use less of it. I only use it in coffee.

I have tried nectresse (by the people who make Splenda) and it's not the worst thing I've ever had.

Splenda - tastes the best to me. Some folks find that stevia has an odd taste - it varies from person to person.

Stevia is natural. It has a strange aftertaste and isn't as sweet as sugar, but it's the one I use when I don't use sugar.

I use splenda in my iced tea. I like the taste and I have no side effects of any sorts with it.
