protein please!

powders aside, what can I feed my family to make sure we are getting adequate amounts of protein? i am not vegan, but I would like some ideas other than meat/eggs etc.

Fish...yoghurt/dairy...
Beans/legumes etc have protein, but also come with a lot of carbs. Vegies have protein, but you need to eat mountains of them. Nuts/seeds have protein, but are more of a fat source.0 -

Check out the book Veganomicon to start. I'm not vegan but I like to cook meatless meals for my family because I don't believe we need that much meat in our diets. They have recipes that use a blended tofu cream in replace of the eggs and sooo many yummy bean & lentil recipes that are high in protein and of course muffins and cakes. To any of these recipes you can add flavorless protein powder. Getting protein from meatless meals IS possible, it just takes some time prepping and planing but totally worth it!0
