Hello everyone!
This is my 3rd time trying MFP and I have been extremely successful in the past which makes me wonder why I so quickly gave it up and went back to old habits.
After thinking today, I realized that if I get in gear and stay consistent, that I can reach my goal weight before I move to Nashville for school and before I go on vacation to California this summer. Just thinking about it makes me SO FREAKING EXCITED! The fact that I could for once in my life go to a public pool or a lake and actually be comfortable is just amazing and the whole transfer process to a new school would just be complete if I was happy with myself for once.
I am writing this here because I know that people here care. People here want to motivate, support, and encourage. I am determined that with the right mindset, consistency, and a whole lot of prayer that I CAN and I WILL do this!
Soooo with that said, does anyone have any advice or anything that has worked well for them? I am willing to try anything new that may work!
Feel free to add me as well... I need more friends!

Hey girl!
Congrats on being consistent and staying on track. For your weight loss journey, I would recommend eating as "clean" as possible…eat tons of veggies, fruits and get in your protein as well as 64 oz. of water per day. Exercise is super important but so is surrounding yourself with positive people that are going to encourage and motivate you despite the occasional setbacks. Keep going. If you can envision your goal, you can accomplish it. Recently, I have decided to create a vision board because that'll help me stay focused and remind me of my goal. Take frequent progress pics and weigh in weekly.
Best wishes,

I am a work in progress. My advice is to make small strides at a time, being better about what you ate and how much you exercised today than you were yesterday. I too, am a fan of eating mainly fresh whole, from the earth foods, but I think to expect someone to go directly to only that in a short amount of time is unreasonable, unless a person has a medical condition that requires it.
The most important advice I give is if you screw up, do not say, well thats it, today is blown I may as well just do what ever and start again tomorrow, or this weekends blown, start again Monday. Start again with your very next choice. That is what your life is going to be, a series of choices you have to make. We try to educate ourselves on what the nutritional values of food are along with how many calories it would take to burn, and weigh whether or not something is "worth it".
I started this journey 6 years ago with the decision to stop drinking alcohol, then I stopped drinking soda, then diet anything, then I stopped eating processed fake meat products and choose organic meat instead, then I eventually mostly stopped eating processed foods and so on, but this has been over the lats 6 years, doing it a little at a time so I did not feel like I was denying myself anything.

Something that helped me was to make mini goals/challenges (check my profile for suggestions). This helped keep me on track and gave me a timeline for weightloss Just make sure they are achievable goals (max 2 lb/wk) and realise that as you get closer your weight loss slows more and more so as you are closer change your goal to 1 lb/wk or even 0.5 lb/wk. To stay motivated maybe have rewards (not food rewards lol) for when you reach these mini goals (ex- massage? bikini? new work out pants? new sneakers?).
Good luck girl and stay focused!0
