Will this general meal plan help me lose weight? I exercise 6-7 days a week also.
Breakfast: 1/2 cup oatmeal w/ agave nectar, cacao nibs, and cinnamon
Snack: apple
Lunch: vegetables w/ black beans
Snack: fruit w/ cliff bar or celery and peanut butter/hummus

  • Hey :)

It really depends on a lot of factors.. But you can give it ago and see if it works after 2 weeks or so.. and there is always if you are overweight you are more likely to lose weight a lot quicker then if you are near the edge of overweight but still in the healthy BMI (20-25) range.. it all depends on so so so so many factors!

Also are you drinking any fluids? its recommended 8010 glasses of water a day :)
  • Yeah I only drink water and sometimes tea. Thanks so much for the feedback :)

It actually looks quite low in calories...how many calories is it? And how many calories did mfp allocate you?

If you eat that, will you be in a reasonable calorie deficit ? ( reasonable being not hugely drastic, or total cals being under you bmr)

Are you eating sufficient protein and fat? Your meals seem very carb dense with little protein and fat. If you don't eat meat, eggs, fish or dairy, you will need to make sure you're getting enough protein from plant based sources.

You don't say how many calories it is, but it looks like nowhere near enough food, especially if you are also exercising.

On your profile, your ticker indicates that you are trying to gain weight. Is that a mistake in how you set up your profile, or did you initially come here to gain weight? At 5'3" and 123 lbs, you are well within the healthy range for your height, which makes having a really drastic calorie deficit even less of a good idea.

You are likely not getting enough protein, fat and various vitamins/minerals, but most importantly I would look at the caloric intake first.
