I hate them both. They are not made cuter by calling them kitties either.
Also, I will never understand why someone would choose to own a cat when they could have a dog instead. ::scratches head::
Maybe some of you can help...since there appears to be a love of cat gifs at the very least. Why do YOU love cats/cat gifs?

Love cats and I have 1 cat and 1 dog. They all have their different personalities and I love those differences!0

I thought this was going to be a thread with cat gifs0

Just wanted to say that I don't have dogs or cats. Dogs are adorable and great companions if trained properly but I refuse to pick up poop so I'll never get one. Cats...well, I just don't understand cats. Every home I've ever been into with a cat REEKS of litter box--some worse than others but ALL smell to some degree. I just can't do that.0

never. lol. unless it gets derailed and people start posting those darned things.0 -
Dogs are for people who like to have constant validation, or a permanent ego boost. Cats just don't do that.
I do like dogs, they're okay. But I prefer cats. I don't want something up in my face all the time that needs constant attention. Too much hassle.
Also, my lifestyle just won't allow for having a dog. I'm gone for much of the work day, sometimes I have no idea what time I'll actually get home. It's not fair to have a dog and make him wait to to outside for exercise and to pee for that long.0 -

Cat: Independent thought
Dog: Does whatever it's told to because it lacks independent thought
Cat: Eats food and enjoys hunting
Dog: Eats it's own vomit and feces (or those of others)
Cat owner: Enjoys independent feisty animal equivalent to a teenager or early adult
Dog owner: Enjoys needy animal equivalent to an infant
Cat: Cleans self
Dog: Needs to bathe
Cat: Hates to get wet
Dog: Gets wet and smells like the most disgusting thing on planet earth. When you smell something absolutely atrocious, it will often be referenced as "smells like wet dog"
Cat: Potty trained even from birth
Dog: Likes to pee on the wall, but is capable of waiting for you to get home to take the dog out several times a day (otherwise dog pees on your things)
etc0 -
If the litter box stinks that badly, they're probably not cleaning it right or often enough. You should sift daily. I know a lot of people who don't do that.
I'm a dog person myself. However, I love my cat. Cats and I don't generally click.
Also, dogs hunt and enjoy food. And I've seen my cat (and my past cats) eat vomit.0 -

Hate is a pretty strong emotion, have you spoke with your therapist about it :-)0

Well who hasn't eaten their own vomit at least once?
I mean if I just ate a bowl of hummus and my body is going through chickpea overload, it's just like eating it twice for no extra calories. WIN WIN!0 -
The cats know of this thread and are not taking it lightly...

Cats have 9 lives and therefore all the time in the world.
They will just wait for the right time to strike...

I have a cat so needy we named him Velcro, so cats can be plenty affectionate and playful. That being said, love dogs too, but if I get a dog I want a DOG, not an accessory, presonally would love a rotty, but since they don't work well with apartments, will be sticking with cats for now.
Also, our cat Spaz totally plays fetch, just saying...0 -

"The nation’s largest meat producer [Tyson] says it has terminated its contract with an Oklahoma farm after NBC News showed the company undercover video of workers on the farm kicking, hitting and throwing pigs and slamming piglets into the ground."
"Another common cause of death [of pigs] is ulcers caused by the stress of living in the barns. The pigs' stomachs had large, bloody holes where the pigs had bled to death."
"The manager often killed sick pigs by beating them in the head with a metal rod and a hammer. The video shows the pigs crying out as the rod comes down again and again on their heads and backs. After beating one pig to death, the manager laughed and told our investigator that he shouldn't let anyone see him doing that. On another day, the manager took a pig by his hind legs, swung him into the air and slammed his head on the hard floor."
Just remember those statements when you joke about pigs and bacon. It would be far more civil of you to raise a pig as a pet and then humanely kill and process it as opposed to buying bacon at that store. Unless you're buying bacon at Whole Foods where producers must meet strict standards, your bacon likely comes from a tortured animal.0
