Just need to vent...

My mother and I made a trip up to Subway for dinner. She made a total scene because they no longer had a sub she wanted. So she stood in line for 10 minutes, made the line longer, and didn't order. I kept throwing ideas out there, wasn't interested. Handed her a nutrition leaflet, she freaked because it didn't have the other choice of sub she wanted's nutritional info in it. I tried explaining to her that it was that way because the sub was brand new...and that even though it wasn't in the leaflet, it was online...she didn't hear any part of it.
I get so frustrated and embarrassed when this happens. And this isn't the first time.
I just needed to vent. :explode: :noway:

That's... When I would have walked away.
I don't tolerate that from anyone. Family or not.

My mom is EXACTLY like that too. She has the things she eats and refuses to even try anything else. It's annoying, but that's the way it is.

I work in a restaurant and trust me when I tell you that PEOPLE SUCK.

No idea why people think it's okay to cuss and threaten me, but as soon as I get a bit of an attitude in return, they feel as though they've been mistreated.

There's a level of disrespect that I'm willing to accept since it's my job to put up with the public, but once you begin cussing me or making rude remarks about me to your family and friends, we're gonna have some issues.

I also work in a restaurant, so I totally understand where you're coming from. I guess this is why I get so frustrated when she does this also. She worked in a restaurant for a long time, I guess she's forgotten what it's like.

Those people are the reason that I try to be overly nice to people who work in the food service industry. I don't go out of my way to be nice to many people, but I do go out of my way to be nice to servers/sandwich ninjas.

The benefits aren't bad, either. I sometimes get free stuff when these workers like me enough.

Yea, if you're nice and we have a mess up that's going to be thrown away, we'll give it to a super nice customer. If you're a jerk, dream on.

I had a lady come in to my work today asking for fried chicken at a discount price. I had to explain to her that we don't sell it at a discount on Sundays because we close at 3. She argued with me and said she got it discounted on Sundays before. I, ever so gently, explained to her that I had been instructed not to sell it at a discount on Sundays and that anyone who had done so besides my boss was not doing what they were supposed to do. Then she shut up. :flowerforyou:

I never argue with or piss off the person who handles my food. When a problem presents itself, there are polite and effective means of handling the situation.

Also cuz I don't like spit or pubes in my pizza.

Yes. I second this. She should have put on her big girl panties and ordered something different

Your mom sounds like she needs major therapy and medication. Someone should of slapped her while she was in line.

I'd be embarrassed in that situation. Couldn't envision my mom pulling that stunt.
