eating back all my exercise calories?

i went over my calories today even with my exercise included. did i just defeat the purpose of my exercise?

    Nope. Not really.

    You'd be MORE over without the exercise. Also, it takes 3500 calories surplus to gain (or deficit to lose) one lb.

    Tomorrow is another day.

    Depends on your goal. If your trying to lose weight, then yes.

    Exercise has benefits that go way beyond the calories burned. Everyone has bad days, shake it off and start over tomorrow.

    The purpose of exercise is to increase your general fitness; benefit your health; build strength, endurance, and flexibility; and maybe to get the appearance you want. So you didn't defeat the purpose of exercise. You did consume too many calories to have a deficit for the day. You don't say by how much, but it's unlikely you've wiped out the deficit from other days in the week. Just get with your plan tomorrow.
