Hi there, I need some help as I am a little confused. My daily cal intake is set at 1580 as per my goals, but when I look at my daily summary it says:
1580 Goal
2150 Food
-
0 Exercise
=
2150 Net
Where does this 2150 number come from?
Sorry if this is painfully obvious, but I am totally clueless on this, thanks for everyones help in advance :flowerforyou:

Hey, I think it might have been when you originally set up your account. If you set that you will be doing a certain amount of exercise, it will take this into account. Make sense?0

Hiya.
Goal - is the target set for you
Food - is what you've eaten or planned to eat
Net cals - is your real intake once any exercise cals have been subtracted (most people only eat back half the exercise cals offered as they can be over estimated).
If you are seeing 2150 net then you have eaten nearly 600cals over your goal and not exercised (or not entered any) and will gain wt if done regularly.
Hope that helps! I'm not an MFP expert but think this is correct.0 -

2150 Calories - 0 Calories burnt exercising = 2150 Net calories.
So your intake for that day was 2150 calories.
Does that explain it? 2150 is the calories you ate today.
If you had burnt 500 exercising, it would be 1650 (2150-500=1650)0 -
Looks to me like you ate 2150 calories, going over your goal. If you had exercised, it would have come up in the 0 column and the net would have been 2150 (what you ate) - X you burned from exercise.0

Hi, I thought the same but I went and redid my goals for just food and it has me at:
Daily Calorie Deficit 750 calories
Your projected weight loss is 1.5 lbs/week
But when I complete my diary for the day at the assigned 1580 calories it says it will take 5 weeks to lose 1 1/2 pounds0 -
Hi guys,
Thanks you're right it does look like Ive eaten over my goal, but when you go to my food diary, I havent!
Thats why Im so confused, my diary is open if anyone wants to take a look.0 -
Found the food diary really helpful, especially when I was honest with what I was eating/drinking. Quite an eye opener and can definatly see where im going wrong.0

Its a bit odd that you exercised today, but it has not recorded a calorie deficit on your home page.0

I find the diary very useful and have been tracking everything, but my issue comes from this:
My daily cal intake is set at 1580 I HAVENT eaten over that amount.
But my summary says this:
1580 Goal
2150 Food
-
0 Exercise
=
2150 Net
Where does this 2150 number come from?
Also I set it to lose 1.5 pounds a week but when I completed my diary at under 1580 it said it would take 5 weeks to lose 1.5 pounds...
At the end of the day Im sure its something I have done, and thanks all very much for your input and trying to help me.0 -
I'd browse the tech support forum and see if you can find an answer there or a way to contact MFP, sounds like a possible system error to me0

Good idea Phrick, thanks I think thats the right track.0
