Recovering Extreme Dieter

Hey guys! Just joined MFP, not to count calories to lose weight per se, but to gain self-control and portion control!

I'm have been extreme dieting for the past 8 years almost, all in vanity to "get skinny quick". My definition of extreme dieting is anything restrictive that causes an unhealthy relationship with some type or group of food.

I'm making 2014 about creating a healthy relationship with food (including carbs- oh my!) and healing my body and mind with whole, nourishing foods, not restricting them!

I look forward to meeting like minded people that don't need a "diet plan" but just eat real food! Shoot me a friend request, or just leave a line here and I will send the request, I can use all the real food motivation I can get. It doesn't seem hard, but it really is when you've drilled a certain mindset for the past 8 years.

Thanks and happy 2014 everyone!

  • I was on the same boat too and could never stick to anything long term. I've really been loving the switch to whole foods after a couple of weeks I rarely crave all the over processed stuff I was eating before. (except for the occasional pizza, that's one thing I just can't give up lol) I'm constantly searching for new recipes and keep finding super tasty things to try. But welcome to mfp i'm sure you'll find all the support you need.
