Being Healthy and Losing Weight on the Road

I just joined this forum and hope to get the support I really need.
I spend 9 - 10 months of the year out of the country and my weight and overall health has become a serious issue.
I am hoping some of you out there have battled this issue and may have some helpful ideas to help me out.
My T25 videos will arrive today which I hope will help with the workout portion of my travel since I have very limited time and definitely a limited space to work out. Going out walking isn't feasible in many areas I go to because of safety issues.
I appreciate any input.
Cheers.

Just curious as to what you normally eat while out of the country?
Also, what do you have access to? Are you able to get access to a kitchen?
I think that if you are in a hotel room, you can probably do stuff in your space and still burn calories (like the T25 you mentioned).0 -
t25 is a good start-- i have walked or jogged in hotels-- either in their gyms or in the hotel itself, people look at me weird, but oh well.
But the biggest thing when you travel is to limit your calorie intake-- that is what is going to help you lose the weight. Not treating being on the road as splurge times. Healthy snacks, healthier options and trying to limit how many times you go over in calroies.
you can do it

Losing weight mostly involves how much you are eating and the number of calories you take in vs. the number you burn. There are several programs that use body weight that you can do in a hotel room like "you are your own gym" or "convict conditioning". Nerdfitness also has a hotel room workout.
However, the main thing will be to track your calories and make sure you keep near your daily calorie goal.0 -
Thanks for the responses.
To answer the questions - when I'm on the road, I eat what the locals do, from grasscutter and fufu (field rat and radish root), to fish and rice. My hotel rooms are outside of the USA, which means super ,super small (I actually had to stand on my bed and back into the bathroom in one place) rooms and they look at me like I'm from another planet when I ask about gym facilities or a workout area.
I love to walk, but have put on weight over the last two years because walking alone in the areas I travel isn't allowed due to security reasons. I'm hoping it will be better on my next trip to DRC...night walks are always so great, but not worth the risk in most areas.
Having this site to track my intake will definitely help. It is already an eye opener just tracking for a few days. No wonder I've chunked up!0
