Afternoon everyone I’m new and will need help.

I’m 34 and I have decided that it is time to for me to make a major change in my life. The most important things in my life are my fiancé and kids. I really want to be around for the long hall to see the kids grow up and have kids of their own. My main reason for wanting to get in to shape is I’m getting married in June. To the most wonderful woman I have known. She does what she can to get me to do my best at everything I do and it’s about time I return the favor. So here is goes I way 270lbs and my Ideal weight is 200lbs. Now I know 70lbs in 21 weeks is really pushing it but I’m up for the challenge. If I’m not at my goal by the time of the wedding as long as I’m lighter than 230, I’m sure she’ll be happy with it as will I. If I make it close to my ideal weight by the time of the wedding, there will be no reason not to go all the way with it.

So with that said any support will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Davis

Hi Davis! Welcome to MFP. Getting healthy to be the best you that you can be for the people you love is a major driver for so many! I'm an older mom (41), and I lost my dad when he was 38 due to a heart attack. Being a fit guy, he was around longer than his undiagnosed diseased heart would have warranted. When I hit that same age and looked at my two young boys, I felt the motivation I had been lacking since my 20's. I didn't focus on a weight goal, just the goal of getting healthy. I lost 30 lbs the year before I turned 40. About 12 lbs creeped back on, but I'm still fighting! Keep that love in your heart and that motivation in the forefront of your mind throughout this, because it won't be easy. But knowing that you are doing it for your loves will drive you! Okay, enough cheesiness from me. Feel free to add me as a friend if you want someone who to help keep you motivated.

Welcome! Do you have a plan? Exercise routine set, just logging on MFP, etc?

In my experience, exercise is key. Finding something you enjoy doing, finding a routine..because off-days with food will happen and exercise is good for your health even if you're not doing it for weight loss, but will help off-set those days when you go over on calories.

You can add me if you like.
