veggie dip

I am looking for a low fat, low calorie, low carb dip or recipe for my raw broccoli and cauliflower. Any ideas or suggestions?

Low carb, low fat, low calorie. I dunno OP, you're asking a lot.

What's your idea of low carb/low fat/low calorie?

    So basically, protein dip.

Hummus? Something based on miso paste?

Eurgh, google's coming up with higher carb ratios for both of those. I think you may be SOL for low cal, low carb, AND low fat. May have to pick best two out of three.

There is that weird Walden farms stuff made out of fungus fiber or god knows what, it's zero-ish calories. I hear it's passable dressing, might work for a dip.

Pesto is a good bet but you may need to find a low fat recipe as it packs a punch if you are too liberal with it. Guacamole as well could work but also make sure you are measuring as they both are good in smaller amounts but add up quickly.
  • I have the walden farms ranch dressing but I have to choke it down on my veggies, it's so bad. some of the other flavors are okay on a salad. I may just make a dip from a low calorie base and add garlic, onion, or dill to make a dip. Maybe fat free sour cream, cream cheese or plain greek yogurt. Or a combination of them.
  • Yes. I guess I would probably pick low calorie and fat out of them. The carbs are not so much the issue. Thanks

I second the hidden valley ranch dip. Mix with sour cream. Sooo yummy!

Put low-fat cottage cheese in blender with shallots/garlic/onion/chives (your favorite or a combination), add salt and favorite spices and herbs (e.g., black pepper, cayenne, celery seed or salt, parsley). Puree. Add a little low-fat yogurt, low-fat kefir, or buttermilk if you want a tangier flavor (or add just a little vinegar).
