What do you eat to help with Stress, i had to buy a chocolate (50 calories) and later sugary coffee (155 calories) to help with stress, calm my nerves before an important Presentation, looking for other non-sugary ways to help feel better, something i can keep at my work place, go for it instead of buying anything sugary

I usually avoid eating anything extra to relax rather I go for a walk...Once full circle of my office is 1.5km so I take one round and then go for presentation/call whatever. This helps me a lot.0

Thanks Ritesh, aah no time, though as always chocolate does help0 -
Green tea helps. But it is acquired taste and initially you might not like it. Best is try to divert your mind - close your eyes n take a few deep breaths, walk around a little, may be get some sunlight. If none of these work then may be a small bit of dark chocolate. Food doesn't help you relieve your stress. Infact, would adversely affect your health0

I get the same way when I have anxiety or frustration or stress, I want to eat and eat especially bad. But im trying to control that nowand not eat to calm me down. I just try to work through it. but if you need to eat something eat some fruits. They are sweet and natural sugars. Especially raisins or grapes are supposed to help sweet cravings. Raisins have been good for me0

how about learning better ways to deal with stress than eating or drinking? meditation, creative visualizations, affirmations, self-confidence, etc
as far as being stressed before a presentation or meeting i'm leading, i find being fully prepared works. theres no reason for me to stress if i'm 100% confident that i know my *kitten*. if i didnt then i wouldnt have agreed to be presenting anything0 -
I'm told carrots are the perfect sugar, so if it's the sugar you're going after when stressed, you could try some baby carrots.
I will echo the walk/fresh air/breathing and meditation ideas. There are some good meditations on Youtube 10-20 minutes in length.0 -
I feel your pain. I usually buy the lite Coolwhip and eat it while frozen. It tastes almost like ice cream with half the calories and fat. If I want to mix it up I add fruit. Good luck!0

As others have stated, try going for a short walk, or clean something, or do some meditation. I do have a tendency to resort to food, but I try to avoid it. I find that sometimes even walking to the water fountain to refill my water bottle can be a help.0

For me, it is always chocolate :blushing:
I have not tried to eliminate it from my life as I know that I will not survive without it and also, I dont want to live without chocolate :ohwell:
However, the change that I have made is shift from the whopping size of chocolate bars that I would have (400-450 calories easily) :noway: to now only a small bar of Dairy Milk chocolate (90-100 calories max) I make space for them in my daily allowance and the knowledge plus just looking at that chocolate and being aware that it is not a ton of calories is enough to make me happy   :bigsmile:0 -
Thanks all, Points Noted, will remember them during next anxiety strike0

I cant explain it, but after an awful, stressful day at work, I grab either some Billtong or Jerkey on my way home. I love the stuff, and it seems to help me wind down.0
