I recently lost 30 lbs without really trying and now I'm getting serious about losing weight. I stared 1/3/2014... I'm 5'8" and weighed 305 lbs on that date. I took before pictures and made them my profile picture (HARD to show those) and I'm hoping I can update it soon with progress pictures. So far I've lost 4 lbs! I'm going to start adding in exercise - I know I feel better after I do it it's just getting the motivation to do it. My plan is to start with walking and work up from there. I have a 7 year old who has to tag along! Excited to get this done and this will be the year!

Good Luck to you! Stay positive and focus on you! I've been struggling with my weight for a while. I've lost up to 50 lbs and gained it back in a short amount of time, within the past 2 yrs. It was difficult for me to stay motivated when my commute to work increased and my Carpal Tunnel flared up. I felt defeated at times and always seemed to turn to food.
I have a current goal to lose apprx 105lbs...I am 5'7" and currently 264 lbs (lost 3 lbs within my first week) I'm just hoping to keep myself on track and motivated to stick with it...I've joined Planet Fitness and will be starting to use the treadmills and other equipment to help with the weight loss...
I've always said I wished it was as easy to take off the weight as it is to put on.
Stay Strong! and for everyone on this site...this is the reason why we are here....for the support and motivation to stick with it.0 -
Welcome. I have over 100 lbs to lose. I've lost and regained and lost and regained and lost and regained .... in varying amounts. My goal this time around is to commit to the lifestyle and commit to myself. I've decided to focus on small goals that are related to behavior instead of the scale. So, first up, is to complete 16 weeks of TurboFire and to log my food everyday (keeping within the MFP suggestions). I'm 2 weeks into working out and eating well (started 1/1/14) and about a week in to TurboFire and loving it so far! I've decided to weigh-in on 2/1. I think this will give my body time to adjust to some of the changes without driving me crazy (me obsessing over numbers). Happy losing to everyone and please add me if you'd like a friend--it helps me stay accountable and I love to see how everyone is progressing.0

Hello!
I also could stand to lose about 100lbs, but realisitically i'd be happy with anything around 80. I'm 27, and just getting back into this again. I also have gained and lost in varying amounts over the past 7 years, and with being engaged, have decided enough is enough. It truly is LESS about how I look and more about being healthy and happy with my new hubby. I mean of course i'd like to look better in my jeans (and i hate my arms! so tank tops are stressful) but I have to change my relationship with food and take better care of myself before I suffer any serious long-term side effects of abusing food. Anyways, all the best! We can do it!0 -
Thank you all for the encouragement! I'm almost 2 weeks in and I have lost 5 lbs so far. Another goal for me is for those occasional days that I do go over calories or eat something I shouldn't really eat I am NOT going to get down about it. That will just make me want to quit. I'm also making sure I log everything into MFP and keep up with it. Cutting down on Dr. Pepper hasn't been as hard as I thought it was. I'm a teacher and over Christmas break I realized I was drinking 4-5 cans a day!!!! (Not normal but still) so I decided for now I'm not going to cut out completely and give myself the freedom to have one if I really want it that way I don't fall off the wagon and quit. I've done really good sticking with that. I also never drank water and now I'm drinking at least five 8 oz a day which is a big difference.0
