Eating Enough?

Heya,
I started a 'lifestyle' change a few days ago and hope to lose about 90lbs over the next year or so. For the last few days ive beeen trying to eat less and more healthily but my calorie intake is always just below 1000. I don't want drastic wieghtloss and am still having three full meals a day.
Is this ok or do I need to up my intake slightly.
Im currently 5' 11 and weigh 221lbs

You should try and make lifestyle changes that are sustainable. Eating less then 1000 calories is not sustainable: you will be weak, uncomfortable and more likely to binge in the long run. Eat more, and stay away from diet or reduced fat foods. Try nuts, seeds, and nut butters; avocados and bananas; full fat dairy like cream cheese, milk and yogurt to increase your caloric intake. Also make sure you accurately measure/count your calories so you truly know how much you are doing.
Also, I suggest you use the "search" function on the forums. Many people have already given very helpful advice on the specific issue.0 -
You need to eat more. I don't believe that there is a magial number( most people say its 1200). Everytume you get hungry, eat nutritious and healthy food until you get satisfied. And exercise, obviously.0
