    No, i also loathe Nutella.
it was fabulous when I was a kid but they changed the recipe and it tastes nothing like what it used to.
Crappy ingredients .. the quality has seriously suffered.

tastes like rubbish now. I make my own. Tastes like the real thing :)

The question is are you going for healthiest or most delicious? Because Nutella is by far the most delicious, but it is no where near the healthier choice.

Nutella is no less healthy than peanut butter.

Are talking your average peanut butter with all sorts of additives or are you talking natural peanut butter?

They paid settlement money after being sued for their commercials claiming if you smear it on whole wheat toast, it's part of a healthy breakfast. I guess it depends on your definition.

However, lately I've been eating my peanut butter WITH my nutella. Best of both worlds!

If you put that on a bread.... it is like... a Reese's sandwich!!!!

Either, because the nutritional value of both of those is identical.

I am allergic to peanuts so started eating sunbutter
gives me the taste of peanut butter but is made from sunflower seeds and has ingredients that all 4 I can read and know what it is.
have been told it is healthier then peanut butter and my kids love it so they didn't mind that we didn't have peanut butter in the house .
  • Nutella > anything else.

This is where I get sad... The fiance is allergic to all nuts, so if I want to be around him, I can't eat it either. Soooooo, we've started eating sunbutter. It tastes just like peanut butter, only made out of sunflower seeds instead. And it is soooooo good. Now, if we can get a sunflower seed Nutella....

I like almond butter and peanut butter, love hazelnut butter and cashew butter. Nutella... used to love it, used to be like crack to me, but to be honest it's a bit sweet for me nowadays. I have the odd spoonful now and then. (My inner chocolate snob prefers proper gianduja).

I became allergic to peanuts when I was 30 so I know what i was missing but with sunbutter I don't miss not having peanut butter

Nutella but only if you can control yourself..I for the record can't. Other than that both almond butter and PB are delicious but my recent favorite is Pecan butter.
  • I don't understand the real push to substitute any other butter, natural or regular, for your everyday run of the mill peanut butter. Last time I checked at the store, there just wasn't that much difference in calories and fat between any of them.
The only thing I've found that has any substantial difference is the PB2 stuff.

ETA: spread this stuff on one saltine, spread nutella on another saltine, make a sandwich with them, eat, repeat, thank me via PM.

I don't have much of a sweet tooth either so I much prefer PB. Nutella really does just take like sugar to me. (which is fine if you like that).

I also made some hazelnut butter one time with no added sugar. Now THAT was like crack. The whole batch didn't even last one night. Haven't made it since.

LOL at comparing nutritional values of PB vs nutella. If you are that worried about getting all your micronutrient needs you should probably eat both just to cover all bases. (banana, pb and nutella sandwich is really good actually)
  • Recently, I bought powdered peanut butter. You add water to prepare and it is just as flavorful as the high fat prepared pb.
2 tbsp is 1.5g of fat, sodium 94mg, carb 5g and fiber 2g and protein 5g. Just another idea.

Ummmmm, yeah.....not so much. ;) LOL

It's good, but not nearly as good as the real thing.

that's my favourite. I make it with cocoa added and THAT, my friend, is crack-in-a-jar :D

I go for nut butters other than peanut, with nothing added...

One of my favourites is walnut butter, just ordered hazelnut from iherb to add to my collection. If I want chocolatey nut spread, I add cacao :)

    Which one do I choose??
Not really interested in PB2 because it seems like its highly processed... unless I have been misinformed

    Choose for what?

Almond butter and peanut butter are VERY diffrent than Nutella.

Nutella is chocolate with a tiny bit of hazelnut added. The first (primary) ingredient is sugar. You'll probably get more nut content in a Hershey bar with almonds.

Almond butter and peanut butter will differ by brand, but should usually list the nut as the first and sometimes only ingredient. I would choose whichever you prefer the taste of. Personally, I love peanut butter and am not a fan of almond butter (even though I prefer almonds to peanuts when eaten whole).

I like natural peanut butter that contains only peanuts and salt. But brand doesn't matter. I just get whatever is cheapest when I run out.

If I have a jar of nutella I would eat nutella for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's basically chocolate in a jar. I'm really interested in the PB2 peanut butter.. they also have a chocolate version although I've never tried it before.

No, I'm not. I'm trying to state facts. Nutella IS no less healthy than peanut butter. I'd be a lot happier if people said "oh nice, I'll eat the one I like best then!" instead of "he's trying to bait you into an argument because he thinks he's better than everyone else in the world" the way you often do.

Nutella is no less healthy than peanut butter. The nutritional difference between them is essentially zero, whether you're looking at micronutrients or macronutrients. It's so insignificant that enjoyment is by far the overriding factor.

    Absolute nonsense.

Per 2 tbsp serviing of each:
Nutella has 21g carb, 21g sugar, 1g fiber (according to their label).
Peanut butter w/ added salt has 6g carbs, 3g sugar, 2g fiber (http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/4819)

    21 - 6 =/= 0

    Protein - Nutella 2g, Peanut Butter, 8g
    8 - 2 =/= 0
