I am 5' 6" and currently weigh 235. Heaviest I have ever been. Almost 3 months post-partum. I have a physically demanding full time job and busy with a 12 week old baby. Girls with my stats: Please share how you have lost your weight. I am trying to do right and learn from other peoples successes. I have a 50 pound starting goal and plan to try and lose 25 more from there after wards. I just need a little inspiration and hope that this can be done and I can finally look how I have always wanted to!

Log your food on MFP..every day. Exercise when you can, make good food choices. Be patient. Be focused, but forgive yourself if you aren't perfect. Just stick with it..this works, and you can do this!0

I'm 5'3.5" started at 170 lbs after my 6 week post partum check up at the end of June 2013. I'm 123 lbs now and in the best shape of my life. I lift weights 4x a week and do cardiovascular about 4x a week for about 30 minutes. All you need to lose is a slight deficit though. Highly recommend reading:

Yes, definitely give that a read!
I'm 5'6" and started at 235 pounds. Just set reasonable goals for yourself, log your food/drinks accurately and consistently, and find exercises that you like.
If you stick with it, you'll get there.0 -

I did it by never giving up. Never. One day I won. It was great, I posted it on my feed and then sat back and realized that I had to do it forever.0

You can do this! You'll be amazed when the pounds start falling off! I weighed 230 after the birth of my son, and for a couple of years afterward, hovered around 210, until I found MFP. I exercise everyday, but with two kids, its mostly 20 -30 minutes in my living room, when they are napping. The most important thing for losing weight is eating a deficit. I personally eat 1200 calories a day + half of whatever I burn exercising. I have a lot of friends on here who eat a lot more than that, and still lose weight, so you have to try it out, see what works for ya. Feel free to add me as a friend!0

What I did to lose all that weight, was Zumba, walking on treadmill, lifting weights, lifting heavier weights, eating 500 calories, or appx 20% below my TDEE, or total daily energy expenditure. I don't cut anything out of my diet, although, I try to substitue white breads, pastas, and tortillas, with whole wheat or whole grain ones. I feel that it keeps me fulling fuller longer, and keeps my insulin levels steady, which I believe keeps me from having really bad cravings for sweet things. I started out originally doing Curves, and fell in love with "Zumba in the circuit," but they closed down, and now I'm at a regular gym. I do an hour of zumba, and an hour of weights now, but didn't do quite that much before. Before I maybe did 30min's of weights. 1 hour zumba 3 x's/week. Zumba burns so many calories, that I can eat a decent amount of calories daily, and still lose. I've lost weight in the past, and learned a lot from many of my mistakes. For instance, if I get bored with what I'm eating....I will binge. If I allow myself to eat too few calories, and eventually feel like I'm hungry all the time...I binge. In the past, when I've binged, I would usually throw in the towel, and gain all the weight back, and then some. This time is really different. I know if I fall off that horse, I have GOT to get back on! I've come too far, and I've worked way too hard to just throw all that away. Besides, this is really a "diet" that I can live with, because it is a lifestyle change. That means I don't cut anything out of my "diet," because that's not realistic. Am I never going to eat ice cream again??? Heck no! I love ice cream! Lol. I just have to make sure and leave enough calories in my day for it. Sometimes I eat it, and I don't have enough calories, and I HATE to see those red numbers telling me I've gone over, but I get over it and start fresh the next day. There's GOING to be days like that. Days when you go over. It happens. It's reality. Life happens. So that's what I did. Good luck to you!!! If I can do this, anyone can! I can't remember ever being a normal weight, and this is the smallest I've ever been, so...yeah.
Edited because I forgot to mention that I have a bodymedia to figure out my TDEE every day. It automatically adjusts my calorie goal with MFP. K. done.0
