Don't know if anyone else saw on the news last night that the amount of exercies a woman needs to loose weight has changed. Instead of the previously recommended 30 mins. 3-4 times a week, plus a healthy diet, they now say we need a minimum of 55 mins of moderate to vigorous exercise 5-6 days a week. The news didn't exactly say why, but I thought it was interesting.

Interesting? Yes...a little scary...YES! I have lived a pretty sedentary lifestyle, and for me getting in a half an hour of some kind of physical activity 3 to 4 times a week is a stretch but doable. I am gradually increasing that, so I'm sure I could get up to an hour a day, but I was hoping that when I got to that point I'd be ahead of the game instead of just barely getting in the minimum lol0

In my nutrition classes the studies we looked at actually say that you (men and women) should do 30 minutes of exercise 3-5 x a week to maintain good health, 60 minutes to maintain a healthy weight, and 90 minutes to lose weight.0
