My scales have an issue...really!

I've been looking forward to the day I can weigh on my home scales. Well that happened just a couple of days ago. However, the weight is never the same. Today I was down 4.5 lbs, then up 4 lbs. and then down 2.5 lbs and then at times I get the "E". They are electronic and I wonder if its the battery.

Anyone have experience with this?

Try a new battery or it might not be on a totally flat surface? You shouldn't do it on a rug either. Hopefully this helps?

Try changing batteries and see if it still goes crazy.

  • The first scale I bought from wal-mart did that after a month of use, changed the battery and it still gave me wacked out readings (+10 pds, -30pds, i even got 144 once & I was 235, no way I dropped 90+ pounds overnight!) so I went and bought a tempered glass scale, only 30 bucks and it tells me weight, fat % and water % and holds multiple users!
  • change the batteries or just pop them out for a few seconds and the best advice I could give is use only ONE scale!! same place same time of day! And most importantly is the way your clothes fit!!!!

If it's not normal weigh fluctuation, then I agree that it's probably the batteries.

Oh, and I love my weight watchers scale. I think you can get it for $30 at target. It measures body fat, water weight, and bone mass.

mine act crazy too. scales like a permit home, not moved about a lot. i can get on mine several times in a row and get a different weight each time, really want a new set. u might try replacing the battery, mine is a lifetime battery, so i cant. i have took a 15 lb weight and get different weight for it too. try the battery, then test with an item that you know the weight of to test accuracy. congrats on your lost.

What is a tempered glass scale and where do I get it? I need it to go in the 330 lb range.

Oh, I bought this from Wally world as well.

Bed, Bath and Beyond about $50 and goes to 400#. I think it's the Biggest Loser Scale. Check their website for a 20% coupon.

If you all get on at the same time, how do you know what each of you weighs?

mine isn't tempered glass...but it has multiple users...it has a set of buttons that you push and set up each users height, weight, age , etc..mine has 4 users so when I go to weigh in...I am user 2, I push that button , weigh in and if I want I can save the reading...it saves a bunch of them...not for sure the exact amount though, right now..but it's a lot, maybe around 50 readings so you can go back and compare.
