I am determined to stop binging!

I used to be normal. Had a healthy meal plan, treats when I wanted.
About a month (or a little more) ago I messed up everything.
I am now an overeater. A bad one. Actually, I don't think anyone ever saw someone like me. It's horrifying.
I am average weight, but this started affecting my life.
And I need someone to support me while trying to be healthy again, because believe me, people in my life aren't very supportive.
Is there anyone out there who could help me through this period? To give me motivation?I really need it. I can't afford obesity or diabetes or an unhealthy lifestyle.
And please don't answer if you are going to make bad comments and judge me.
Thank you.

What foods do you binge on? My weakness is chocolate and Zebra cakes. I still eat them but in smaller portions. Try that; you can add me as a friend if you like.0

I basicly binge on everything. It doesn't really matter to me , I don't even enjoy it, I just get relaxed.0 -
I am the same, I used to be really good with my diet and exercise... maybe a little on the restrictive side and then I started indulging a little bit more, gained a little bit of weight but in all honesty I probably looked better for it as I was once pretty small.
Then I somehow just slipped into binging really regularly, on anything. Whole tubs of yoghurt, bowl after bowl of cereal, huge amounts of nuts, chocolate, peanut butter, ICE CREAM (biggest weakness), anything I could get my hands on really.
I felt ashamed and disgusting and didnt want anyone to know what I was doing.
I still struggle with is sometimes, most recently when i got some bad news regarding a family member - but I think promising myself to accurately log what I'm eating every day will help - I probably have about 7 or 8 extra kilos (just guessing, I need to buy new scales) that I need to lose on acount of my binging.
I have researched and I think it comes from not wanting to feel bad feelings so numbing that with food. You sad you feel relaxed after a binge and its because its releases a hormonal chemical in our brains that make us feel good.
The only problem is the more often we binge the less sensitive we are to that chemical response, so we need to binge more to get the same effect.
Its a horrible cycle and I find it takes me a few days to feel normal again after a binge.
I hope it helps to know others go through this, and I wish you all the very best in your recovery xxx0 -

I'm an emotional eater. I like to eat when I'm mad, sad, stressed, happy... you name it. Logging my food has helped me control it a lot.0

Logging your food will help, but when it comes to binging you need to figure out why you are doing it. It's obviously not hunger from what you've said, and it's a recent development which indicates there was some kind of catalyst that is the root issue of the behavior. Working through that might be the key to rectifying the issue and getting back on track.0

What changed, about a month ago? Why did you start? Is it because you started restricting too much? Sometimes it can be the body's natrual response to too much restriction to cause you to over eat. Basically the brain think you're going through a famine so when calorie dense food is available it wants you to stock up to prepare for the next famine. But of course in reality this isn't the case. Hopefully if you stop dieting or restricting you may be able to stop binging0
