Getting rid off baby weight

Hello Everyone,
I am new here. I am new to motherhood as well. ^_^ I had just given birth to my healthy baby boy last December 12.
Even though I find it quite a blessing and just heavenly to have my child like all women who had just given birth I fret about all the changes that my body went through specially all the weight gain from my pre-baby weight.
I do not know when it is safe for me to start exercising again. I haven't really asked the doctors yet. But I am so eager to loose pounds because everyone just keeps commenting about my change in appearance and it makes me really conscious.
It is also difficult to manage the portions that I eat because during pregnancy I had eaten more than I did before I was pregnant. I hope this calorie watch program would help me to be more conscious of how much I eat. So I am very hopeful and positive about this. Wish me luck.

They should let you know if it's safe for you to start exercising at your 6 week postpartum check up. There a lot of great postpartum yoga DVDs that help you get everything back where it belongs without running the risk of over doing it with areas that have just been through a lot. When you go in for your checkup talk to your doctor about what type of diet they recommend, but they will probably tell you to avoid anything with a low carb selling point because you'll need some extra carbs to help with breast feeding and for your baby's brain development.
Good luck, my tiny terror turns two this month and I am still trying to get rid of the baby belly.0 -
Congrats on the lil one. I'm a mother also so and I know how you feel. My first child was born almost 13 yrs ago at 20 years old. I only gained 27 lbs. I didn't breast feed but the weight just fell off so easily. Oh how youth is wasted on the young. I had my second child at 30 and stop counting the pounds after I gained 60 of them. I was over 220+! I just figured the weight would come off especially since i was going to breast feed. Boy was I wrong. After months of breast feeding I ask the doctor why i was not losing weight. He told me that some women's boy tell them to hold on to the weight to make sure their baby is getting the proper nutrition. So I learned that it was more important that my child was healthy than to get back into my skinny jeans. Be proud of what you body and do. You just made a life! That is so amazing! don't let other people get you down. your new body might be a shock to you but in time you will drop the weight. I dont know if you are breastfeeding or not so just focus on eating healthy foods and not think about a diet. most docs say you can resume exercise after 6 week, but talk to your doc first. Stay positive and give it more time. Your baby loves the way you are because your amazing body him here.
