Hi!

I am going to DISNEY WORLD in March. I'm at a generally good weight, though maybe I could lose a pound or two. I would like to look more fit for when I go to Disney, but I don't want some quick fix. Over the past 3 weeks I started lifting and squating heavier. But what I really want is a nice flat stomach. I KNOW THERE IS NO WAY TO SPOT REDUCE. But ive always been insecure about my stomach, how should I go about shaping up?

Other than a caloric deficit to cut fat (which you are presumably doing anyway), there's little you can do. The lifting is a good move in that you'll minimise loss of muscle mass (presuming you're consuming an adequate amount of protein). You've got a good amount of time to lose it, so don't worry - my tummy is the last place for me to lose from but it does go eventually.

Otherwise there's not much I can think of bar actually losing weight, except doing your best to minimise bloating by being selective of the foods you eat (e.g. avoiding a lot of salty food). I usually do this if I know I have an event coming up when there are going to be photographs  sorry if this seems like a sort of lame response. Ultimately it comes down to calories!

As I understand it, lifting should help with firming up your abs/core if you are making sure that you are engaging those muscles as you do your exercises, but fat loss (to show the muscle built) is a calorie reduction thing. I have the same concerns, so I hope this is correct! haha!

Pilates is option. Great for building strength and core work.
