NSV - I'm a medium! :-)

Before I joined MyFitnessPal I had been buying XL clothes for a long time. But in fact the last item of clothing I bought before addressing my weight problem was XXL. I'm 5ft 6. I really shouldn't be anywhere near those sizes.

Today I bought my first Medium sized garment for about 20 years! It was lovely. I first tried on the Large and thought it was a little big and in almost disbelief tried on the Medium - and it fit! Lovely.

Hopefully I'll be able to get into a Small before too long. I used to kid myself that XL was manly. It wasn't, it was just fat.

Delighted to be a Medium now.

That's so awesome. I don't think I've been a medium since...high school? Middle school? Haha. So that is a great accomplishment!

Same thing happened to me (so now I have a bunch of XL shirts and a bunch of medium shirts :p). My wife's reaction: "I don't remember ordering a medium husband"

I did the same thing. Went from 2XL in mostly everything to now a medium in mostly everything. It is an awesome feeling for sure.

The mind trick that buying a Medium, knowing there is only one size below usually for men and 3 sizes above the Medium really gets me as well. Same mind trick with pants only there are even more above the 32" waist (sometimes 30") I buy.

Thanks very much, everyone. I wouldn't be able to do it without MyFitnessPals!

Totally awesome! I just did the same thing, bought my first article of large. I'm 6'2 so I don't see mediums in my future... unless I want to show off midriff...

I've been there, and it really feels great. This past summer I gave away seventeen nerdy T-shirts at a nerdy convention. While wearing an M size shirt. :)

    Deliverance, thy size is Medium!

Right there with you brother, I just bought a bunch of medium boxer-briefs and tee shirts yesterday and retired to the rag pile all of my XL's. Congrats on your progress, feels good doesn't it?

Awesome and isn't it a great feeling to see that in your clothing on the tag?!?!?! =)

    Way to go!

I did discover that vanity sizing has reached men's clothing. According to my tape measure, the 33-inch waist pants I bought at Old Navy are actually nearly 35 inches....
