Are Eggs bad for you?

I understand it sounds stupid but Looking at the cholesterol in an egg is pretty crazy. I read somewhere that 300mg/dl in cholesterol should be the most cholesterol you should get daily. Two eggs turned out to be 390.0 g of cholesterol today. I never thought eating two eggs for a male was a lot but I maybe getting incorrect information. Any opinions or thoughts?

I say eggs are good for just about anyone.
Is your cholesterol already high? Then you may want to limit them to a degree, but you shouldn't have to worry about it too much.

Eggs are the most nutritious source of protein and fat you can get from any type of poultry/meat.

I eat 3+ a day and my cholesterol is perfect. Eggs dont really raise your cholesterol, its another stupid myth, just like "fat makes you fat". Majority of nutritious statements these days are *kitten*-backwards.

    Eat your eggs.

Eggs are not bad for you. If your doctor has advised you specifically to work on your cholesterol then you might want to think about avoiding the yolks for a bit, but in general they do not have an adverse effect on your health.

Thanks for the opinions. I didn't really think they were bad but when I was entering food for MFP dairy it said I went over the limit already and it just confused me. I really just wanted some opinions from others that live a healthier lifestyle.

Whole eggs. The BS about the yoke being bad for you is just that. BS.
Whole foods generally better than partial or processed.

Just remember that there are different kinds (LDL and HDL) of cholesterol. I eat 1x to 3x eggs a day and I've had perfect cholesterol all my life.

300 mg of chelesterol per day is the medical recommendation. But many people can eat more than that without problems. For most people, dietary cholesterol doesn't raise blood cholesterol as much as once thought. For some unlucky few, eating too much cholesterol can cause a significant rise in blood cholesterol. The only way to know if you are one of the unlucky ones is through blood tests. That's why the general recommendation is low.

  • Eggs are good for you, they are better for you if they are cage free and allowed to roam and eat freely, without antibiotics etc. That's the only kind I try to eat if available. If the chicken eats it , its in the egg too..fyi

Well I recently been for blood test and they didn't tell me the exact what it was but they said it was fine and not high so I assume I am not one of the few that gets high blood cholesterol from eating eggs haha.

Blood cholesterol is actually produced by the body from other fats. It has the crucial role of aiding in the production of hormones and helping maintain the nervous system. It's actually fascinating stuff. We now know that dietary cholesterol has minimal impact on blood cholesterol levels,.

Dietary cholesterol doesn't actually raise your cholesterol level, and things like eggs have actually been shown to decrease bad cholesterol.
