On Sunday I came down with a nasty stomach bug that pretty much emptied me of everything in my stomach and left me eating a limited diet the next day. Yesterday I was feeling much better and am back to eating my regular caloric allowance. Today I wasn't surprised to see that I was able to meet my weight loss goal; but instead of 2 lbs lost, it was almost 6!! Does this mean I'm going to gain this weight back before I lose again?? Any insight??

I was wondering the same thing. I have been sick for three days. I lost a total of like 5 lbs when I was sick, but when I did my weigh in it was back up to a 2 lbs loss. I logged my weight in. I guess if my scale goes up next week, I will re adjust but for now, I am taking what I can get.

I don't know for sure, but I would guess that you may go up a little just from replenishing your fluids. When I am sick I know that I get dehydrated from not drinking enough water...
  • Due to the bug you are most likely dehydrated, and will gain some of that weight back when you go back to your normal intake of fluids. I went through a bug as well last week and dropped 3 lbs, then regained 2 when I was able to keep fluids down.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. On Monday though I was able to drink more than enough water though and yesterday the same...I haven't had any of the usual signs I usually get from being dehydrated (headache, extreme thirst, etc.), so I wonder if I'm doing ok on those. time will tell!

i had a stomach bug a few months back, i also lost about 6lbs, i ended up putting 3 back on, but the other 3 stayed off! which i was more than happy with because i figured it would all go back on once i managed to start eating properly again!
