Hi there. I'm Jess. So, long of the short, I've been struggling with drinking for a year + now and have found it to have taken its' toll on my once bodacious physique. Sucks, but it's time to face it. Here I am, thirty pounds heavier and lacking the confidence I once had. No matter, I *will* find it. I'm here because I find it tough to discuss weight/habits with people in my everyday life. I've struggled with eating disorders for many of years, recovered well, but now have to learn how to lose weight the right way for the first time in my life.
I figure it's the internet... and many of you here can relate, so why have any shame?
With that said, thanks for reading and I look forward to learning/sharing with you all.

I can vouch for the support you can find here. This community is great and if you can make friends here, they are all great at congratulating you on EVERYTHING! I get "likes" and comments every day when I log my diary for the day and it feels great knowing that people are pulling for you. Feel free to add me if you're looking for support and encouragement. Most here have intentions of getting or staying healthy by many different means, but the common goal is being healthy so we can all relate. I wish you much success in the coming future and look forward to reading about you losing your "keg" for a "6 pack" (see what I did there? since you say you've struggled with drinking?) :laugh:0

Hi Jess, you should feel really good about yourself. I came here for the same reason. I cannot be candid with people in my life, and I feel here others would understand. For the first time in 10 years I posted a picture of myself. I hate any pictures of me, but feel I can be honest here. It is my "before" picture, and by the end of the year, I want to post a new picture of a healthier me. I am just taking it one day at a time. Maybe that would be helpful to you too l0
