Hello;
I have decided to drop 100LBs and been looking forward to this for a while.
Started the process Monday Jan 13th 2014; and as of today I have lost 6.4LB; this is my 4th day only.....

Yay!!!! You can do this!!!! Look how well you've done just out the gate?! It sounds cliche but try to think long term on days you feel frustrated. I look forward to your success story.0

I wish you all the success!! I am trying to lose 50lbs by August and I am worried about developing gallstones. I'm trying to keep myself around the 2lbs per week loss but I seem to be shedding a pound every day. It's probably water weight but I do worry about gallstones as sudden weight loss is a cause of them.
I wanted to give you my encouragement but also give you a word of caution about gallstones. Losing weight that fast puts you at a real risk for them so just keep that in mind. I hope that doesn't come across as critical, just sharing my own concerns for my own weight loss with you.0 -

Be careful how you go about doing it. I lost 113 in 10 months and that was pushing it. Keep an eye on your macros and make sure you eat. Good luck! Oh and don't be too scared when your hair starts falling out.0

100 in 6 months? Ummm yeah that's pretty unrealistic. I did 100 in just over a year. You should only ever lose 2 pounds per week max. If you get it off good luck keeping it off. It's gotta be a sustainable lifestyle change.0

That's a pretty ambitious goal and I commend your enthusiasm. It probably took a LOT longer to put that on so be realistic as well - I wouldn't turn it into a race. It should be a lifestyle change you enjoy. To quote Tony Horton, "Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was your body". I would focus on feeling better with every 5-10 lbs lost as a significant milestone and forget the 100 in 6 months as the success criteron. Please remember that if you lose very quickly your skin will probably not keep up and you could end up with a lot of loose skin which can be a real issue for people.0

Best of luck to you! I have been on my journey Since october with a total loss goal of 150lbs. I did not set a time frame to achieve that as I didnt want to rush it since it was a huge change to make and discouragement is bound to happen at times when loss slows up.
WIth that in mind, you will stop loosing weight as frequently in the coming weeks and get more on track with your MFP settings. Remember, that doesnt mean that you are doing anything wrong though....there is just an adjustment period where you will have cleansed your body of waste and excess water. With that in mind....water weight does not mean what what you have taken in, but what water is retained in your cells. Continue to drink LOTS of water. I have seen my best losses over the last few weeks while maintaining 120oz of water intake on a daily basis. It really helps especially if you work out daily!
Another helpful tip i will give you. eat every 2-3 hours something small (handfull of almonds is my go to, or a small greek yogurt). Eat plenty of veggies and watch the amount of sugars in those like peas and corn, and the heavy sugary fruits like grapes.
Above all else, make small changes. Doing things too fast will have adverse affects at times. Its a journey to a lifestyle change....not a diet! DIETS FAIL!

Thank you everyone for your kind and thoughtful comments and suggestions; I will be sure to read and keep in mind all your input. this Journey is not an easy one; but for usre possible; I have a full support group here in the family as well as online community... so if anyone; I can do it... !
Today being the first weekend since my New decision is made; went a little far and had some food outside with my daughter. enjoyed a movie and we shared one Diet Coke there...
Not feeling bad about it.. over all still feeling awesome and makeing progress... we have decided to put an extra hour in Gym tomorrow.

Thank you man; very accurate..
Let me share this with you, I am not doing much of Cardio cause of my weight and I am scared I might hurt my knees... so all the weight loss to date (last 5 days 9lb) has been eating healthy; staying under my 1875 Calories; increase in Protien; cut back on Carbs and weight lifting and free weights work out 1.5 hours per day...
this should help me with the skin problem I hope.0 -
How will you maintain such a quick loss? Think through maintenance. It all begins when you reach your goal weight.0

Best of luck on your journey! Just please, don't overdo it with calorie deficits or exercise. I know we'd all like for the weight to go quickly, but it took us a while to gain it, so it will take a while to lose it. You can do this!0

Remember that losing 100 lbs is a physical and emotional battle that you will be fighting daily and be generous with yourself if you don't meet your goals. Just keep going and you will.
I find that the mental aspect of losing is more challenging for me than the physical. Mentally I fight my habits, mentally I manage my expectations. Mentally I have to process my new size. Mentally I have to process how people treat me differently now that I'm thinner.
I'm in the middle of my 5th month and have lost 50. I know I wanted to lose it faster but I don't honestly think my mind or body would look great right now if I had. As it is, I feel happy, whole and am actually very content with my progress. It is amazing how good you'll feel with even a little weight off.

Little overzealous and that quick of weight loss in a short time will more than likely result in loose skin. You're speaking of weight loss equal to that on what they do on the Biggest Loser, and trust me when I say that it's not a good way to lose. Even if you're resistance training, muscle loss will be part of that weight and that only LOWERS your metabolic rate.
