Could I "binge" today?

It is my birthday soon and having a few parties.

Is it ok if I eat cakes and biscuits and stuff today?

I am usually very healthy but is it ok to have a reward meal today?

I heard that if you eat alot on one day your body actually dumps/doesn't take the extra calories as long as it doesn't become a habit.

I plan on eating some cake biscuits and chocolate and one healthy meal.

I'm kind of feeling guilty already, I just want to know is this ok and will this have bad effects?

One day will not hurt anything. If your cheat days outnumber your healthy days, that's when you'd need to start to worry.

It's okay to enjoy your birthday! Stop thinking of this as a diet and think of it as a lifestyle change instead. Do you plan on spending the rest of your life without ever having cake or other treats ever again? Stay on track most of the time, and the occasional day of treats won't be a problem.

Birthday calories do not count. Everyone knows that, LOL!!

Enjoy! Have what you want without beating yourself up for it. It still balances to calories in/calories out and not sure about your body just "not taking in" the extra calories.

Work out more on that week and I am sure it will balance out. Now get out and enjoy your bday celebrations :flowerforyou: :drinker:

It's fine, but the body does not dump the calories. Happy Birthday!
  • I'm not sure how true the thing about not taking on extra calories is, but it's not going to hurt you/have bad effects if you have a splurge out day every once in a while when you otherwise eat healthily (unless you eat something you're allergic to, but that can happen regardless).

Personally, I find that allowing myself to splurge every once in a while actually helps me keep to my healthier diet the rest of the time, because it keeps me from just giving up when I slip up, or giving up because I'm 'not allowed' fun foods that I enjoy.

So don't feel guilty, and enjoy your birthday :-)
