Pizza

So I had a cheat meal last night for dinner... I went into dinner with 1000 calories left for the day. My family ordered pizza and I had 3-4 slices and some breadsticks. This morning when I weighed myself, I gained 2lbs from last Saturday. I worked out and stuck to my caloric goals each day since last Saturday. My question is can all the cheese and salt in pizza make you gain 2lbs? Keep in mind that I also worked out 4 days this week and ate back half of the calories burned.

Yeah, totally. Don't sweat it. Pizza rules. No way did you gain from one meal.0

Keep in mind the food you eat weighs something itself. Until that food is digested and used by your body it will skew your weight. Also something like pizza will make you retain a little more water due to the sodium content.
Weigh yourself again in the morning and I bet you'll "magically" lose a few pounds over night. Normal fluctuations can be 4 or 5 pounds a day. It's normal. Remember, you would have had to consume around 3500 calories over your maintenance for the week to have actually gained a pound of fat.0 -
Thanks guys! There is no way I consumed an extra 3500 above my 20% reduction and working out.... It's just always discourging busting your but eating right and working out to have gained weight. I even turned down free chick-fil-a and cake twice this week!!0

^ this. Watch your trend line not the day to day fluctuations, and never sweat a cheat meal, particularly when you're still under your calorie goal. Schedule those in instead. We all need sanity breaks.0 -
OMG! I could not have turned down Chik-fil-a!! That was a feat in itself. Good for you!!!0

Same thing happened to me last week when I had pizza for the first time in a while. I usually keep my sodium pretty low so I chalked it up to that. The weight went away by the next time I weighed myself about two or three days later. No buggy and don't sweat it if your usually on your weekly caloric target. Besides, weight fluxes by as much as 5 lbs a day. Go potty! Lol!0
