I started a new job where I do physical labour for 12-14 hrs a day, on my feet- walking about 18,000-25,000 steps a day.. A lot of the work I do has me breaking into a sweat.. Because it is so physically demanding. Any who, I have been eating healthy, counting calories, watching my sodium intake, drinking a ton of water (always have) but yet I haven't lost a pound! I burn around 3000 cal a day, and I am only taking in about 1800-2000 cal. What gives?

  • How much time has it been since you started?

Are you looking at just the scale or body measurements?

How much change were you looking for, it takes a while to weight and see changes especially if you don't have a lot to lose and based on your ticker you don't have a lot.

It's been 3 weeks, but I was active before this job- so this extra 12 hrs a day of physical labour I thought would just be a bonus and help with weight loss. I am tracking my inches too but haven't checked lately maybe I will do that. Any other opinions?

I would also look to see if you are over estimating how much you are burning and under-estimating how much you are eating. Because with 3 weeks of a deficit, you should be seeing some scale results.

Are you weighing/measuring everything? What you may think is a portion may be a bit more. Are you eating things or drinking things you aren't tracking? little things add up.

Well I do portion out my food ( measuring cups and/or scale) and really only drink water, and one black coffee in the morning. Ugh. Maybe I'm just being impatient. I'll give it another few weeks.
